SALARY: Up to £36,000 basic, plus 25 days holiday, bonus, Bupa healthcare, pension scheme, free on-site gym, discounted Unilever products, discounted canteen, etc.

MAIN JOB PURPOSE

We have an Assistant Brand Manager role available in our Foods business working across our Colman's brand portfolio (condiments and sauces) for the UK market.

The objectives for the role are as follows:

· To assist in growing value share and turnover of the brand through successful delivery of the 2018/2019 brand plans, whether that be through the core, innovation or communication. That could mean working on the launch of a new product, undertaking research on the latest trends in the industry, creating a winning in store plan for Christmas or planning a digital campaign for our brand.
· To have ownership of key elements of the plan and responsibility for key segments of the brand portfolio and their associated budget & performance.
· To be a true brand leader for the business, using competitive analysis, consumer insight and research to ensure their brand is winning against the competition and delivering on its full year growth targets.

This would be an ideal role for a candidate working for another FMCG company/start-up, who has UK market experience.

JOB SUMMARY

· Development of a share-growth-oriented marketing & category plan for the segments for which they are responsible, that seizes opportunities in product renovation, pricing strategy, competitor activities, customer/channel (e.g. convenience format, discounter, online) specific needs
· Managing media, communication and brand plans, including briefing external agencies, providing feedback on creative and media proposals and managing agencies day to day.
· Running in store marketing plans with Shopper marketing team and leading briefing of the field sales teams.
· Project management for future brand launches including creating trade stories and communication plans as well as managing logistics with cross functional teams internally.
· Monitor brand performance and provide monthly performance updates to the business.
· Feed into monthly and annual financial forecasting process including management of brand marketing spend.
· Develop and implement 12-18 month portfolio roadmap including product range & quality, brand build, value delivery for consumers, pricing & affordability, range extension.
· Champion competitive behaviour and mindset throughout the business and translate it into targeted marketing activities to grow brand share

KEY REQUIREMENTS

· Previous brand management experience within FMCG
· Previous UK market experience
· It is essential that candidates are confident managing projects from end to end e.g. developing a new product, liaising with chefs, supply chain teams, developing a marketing plan, etc.
· Solid understand of P&L
· A successful candidate must have high numeracy, excel and data analysis skills: A strong financial grip is key for this specific role
· The ability to work confidently with multiple cross functional teams, with strong communication and presentation skills is fundamental to the success of the individual.
· They will have a passion for brands, be able to demonstrate the Unilever Standards of Leadership and champion the consumer, shopper and customer in everything they do.
· A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their deep sense of logic, ambition, organisational and analytical skills, a head for figures and great instincts, along with a desire to get stuck in and actually make things happen.
· Creativity, team orientation, being ambitious to learn as well as a real proactivity in their own development - learning as much as they can about Unilever and Marketing as a function.
· In addition the right candidate will be highly motivated and capable of leaning in to support the team on wider portfolio tasks.
