The Project Closer is responsible of coordinating and supporting the development team in the last stage of production to ensure that the project is ready to be released from a quality and delivery standpoint.
While collaborating with team leads + producer + project coordinators + QA
To participate on-site on all aspects of the project management:
o Team Coordination: optimization and improvement of production processes; put in place methods that will promote good communication.
o Establish or integrate and support existing Closing Committee.
o Optimally organize workload and priorities.
o Follow the production: define project milestones, manage risks and help establish contingency plans.
Able to evaluate the game’s production progression versus the risks related to the submission planning.
o Respect the objective in term of planning + quality.
o Follow-up & coach the team on its day-to-day management and scoping problems.
o Carry out all other related tasks.
Ø Set up best practices using technical skills
o Jira and closing dashboard set up.
o Put in place and teach closing best practices.
o Bring compliance, UOR and age rating expertise.
Mentoring and training Junior Closing Specialist
o Help with identifying good candidates for Closer positions
o Training Juniors while on missions
Helping with / Participate in audits
o Take part in production audit missions
o Help with identifying good candidates for audit missions
Take an active part on studio and company wide effort to improve production management
o Good interpersonal skills, to integrate and influence an established project.
o Very good communication skills, to keep stakeholders aligned.
o Leadership/Management skills, being able to make things happen with a team.
o Problem solving, required as solving problems is a good part of Closers’ work.
o Critical thinking, to take rational decisions above emotional context.
