Job Description

Reporting to the Onshore Operations Superintendent, the Process Engineer will provide process engineering and operational support to Shetland Gas Plant and Tier 2 support teams to achieve the best safety, reliability, efficiency, production, environmental and cost performance possible:

·  Routine monitoring and reporting
·  Technical verification of SCE testing

·  Good knowledge of onshore / offshore process and production systems, flow assurance issues and industry norms and specifications.

Context and environment

Site Support
·  Provide immediate technical support to site operations for process / mechanical upsets and front line trouble shooting to ensure continual safe and efficient delivery of production targets.
·  Analyse and resolve short term production/process issues utilising appropriate techniques, liasing with Tier 2 support teams for additional advice and support as required.
·  Provide process and operational assistance in the preparation, organisation and analysis of site based trials, issuing of guidelines/procedures as required to ensure trials are controlled and carried out in a safe and meaningful manner.
·  Create, review and update site field operating procedures for SGP topside process and SPS to reflect plant/operational change or plant optimisation.
Routine Monitoring & Reporting
·  Carry out daily routine monitoring checks on production critical equipment (e.g. TEG Heat Exchangers) and wells with the assistance of the well performance engineer as required and propose changes where necessary to optimise the plant and wells to maintain safe and efficient production.
·  Provide assistance to environment, production chemistry and hydrocarbon accounting teams in the gathering of data required for monthly reporting of emissions and discharges.  Ensuring data is accurate and complete, correcting any in a logical and justifyable manner to ensure consents and permits are adhered to. 
Process Engineering and studies
·  Participate in process studies for plant modifications related to process discipline or multi-discipline. Provide operational and process engineering input to HAZOPs, HAZIDs, Risk Assessments, SIL assessments, RFM dossiers and other technical safety assessments / audits, both during the actual assessment and during subsequent action resolution.
·  Provide operational and process engineering assistance to Shutdown and Project Teams providing significant input to SGP ‘ramp-down’ and ‘ramp-up’ plans.
Flow Assurance
·  Monitor and optimise process operating parameters via ICSS, PI Process Book, PMS and OFMS to ensure all possible improvements are identified and actioned.
·  Act as the SMART Room focal point for Laggan, Tormore, Edradour and Glenlivet PMS/OFMS.
·  Create, optimise and act as focal point for 18” flowline pigging programs to minimise production shortfalls, optimise flowline conditioning and manage hydrate risk through PMS modeling.
·  Support the SGP shutdown team in preparing and optimising well and flowline ‘ramp-down’ and ‘ramp-up’ plans
·  Provide process engineering and flow assurance input / calculations to support site activities / modifications and optimisation
Interfaces
·  Develop and maintain good working relationships with site personnel, other TEP UK business units and 3rd party contractors and vendors through effective communication and regular site visits.
·  Act as onshore site focal point between site, Tier 2 teams and other TEP UK business units and 3rd party contractors following up on queries and requests in a timely manner.
