Job Description

·         Economic Tools Maintain and improve economic tools for performance control and business analysis. Work with RSTO to validate their offline margin models.

·         LP Back-cast: Perform a back-cast every month benchmarking the overall mass balance of the refinery and the unit level mass balance for LP accuracy identifying gaps and action for alignment. Define and follow up metrics of LP accuracy.

·         LP Retro-Optimization: Perform periodic retro optimization using the LP to help assess loss opportunity impacts and economic what-if for continued refinery optimization, in particular around Distillate and Gasoline Blending: work with the respective coordinator and performance control engineer to optimize blending operations

·         LP Economic Studies: Assist Projects, RSTO and Strategy with various economic studies or simulation of feeds and quality in the future (ex. Major Maintenance Outages)

·         Model Committee: Coordinate the model committee meeting working with the process engineers and MMO to update the process models and LP model to be ready for the LTP process. Facilitate with the process engineers the need for test-runs to update the unit models.

·         Refinery Databook: Build and maintain a database of refinery historic data such as mass balance key elements, losses, self-consumption, variable costs per unit, utilization, main economic analysis elements, asset description with main process and logistical constraints that should be modelized in the LP (official capacities of process units, utilities, tanks, docks, and pipelines information defining import/export capacities by pool). This document is the reference for any required statistics, feeding Performance Control reporting and basis for comparison to LP Back cast results.

·        Perform back up duties for the Business Analyst when unavailable.

·  Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering
·  3+ years engineering  experience preferably in refining
·  Interpersonal and effective communication skills, demonstrate autonomy and self-driven
·  Good problem solving skills
·  Work nights, weekends, and holidays during month-ends or other special circumstances
