Job Summary

Conducts training and development programs, including leadership and management skill development, using adult learning theory and accelerated learning techniques. Follows up on programs and coaches/counsels participants and their management to assist with skill transfer to job.  Participates in needs assessment, design, development and execution of training/development solutions.  Training Specialist will work closely with L/D Manager to develop, drive or co-lead building foundational programs such as leader and GW onboarding, coach trainer, clerical, problem solver trainer, WMS certification, 5S programs and other programs.

 

Major Areas of Responsibility

·  Supports delivery of core skill training to FC Management, with a focus on operational effectiveness, engineered standards and management.  Delivers targeted training to FC Management as identified by the L&D mgr. in conjunction with the business leaders.  Oversees training processes to support Associates at all levels in acquiring knowledge and skills necessary to perform at Company standards (general warehouse associates as well as supervisors and managers). Supports the Fulfillment center in the creation and monitoring of individual development plans.  Supports Company values and polices.
·  Follows up on programs and coaches/counsels participants and their management to transfer skills back to the job. Conducts one-on-one and small group meetings to refresh skills and techniques.
·  Designs, develops and edits training materials and documentation (i.e. Preferred Methods, standard operating procedures, quick reference guides, job aids, visuals, leader's guides, workbooks, trainer outlines) to support all training programs.  Participates in needs assessment, design, development and delivery of training/development solutions.  Meets with management to determine department and individual needs and creates and executes work plans to meet established objectives.
·  Performs special projects as assigned or directed.
·  Gather all building data both operational and L & D
·  E-Learning Communication and Reporting
·  Evaluate employee performance and gauge where skills need improvement
·  Training Plan administration
·  Prepare hard copy training materials such as functional training modules and presentations
·  Schedule appropriate training sessions
·  Prepare onboarding training for new general warehouse associates

 

Minimum job skills required to perform this job.

·  Knowledge of management and communication skills, adult learning, instructional design techniques learning management systems and applications
·  Strong presentation, writing, research, organizational and computer graphic skills
·  Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office
·  Extensive knowledge of various teaching methods
·  Ability to convey complex information in an understandable way
·  Excellent time management and organizational skills

 

Minimum formal education

·  Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in field of expertise

 

Minimum experience required to perform this job

·  3-5 years training experience including design and development of training programs
·  Coaching/counseling experience including positive and constructive feedback
