Job summary:

The Project Analyst supports the Merchandise Operations Management (MOM) Corporate Solution Delivery Domain across a number of different areas including project intake, project portfolio management, operational metrics, and project support. This position requires strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of IT project processes and the ability to work in a fast faced global team.

 

Job responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include project portfolio and operational analytics and reporting and supporting project managers on large programs and projects.  The project analyst will work closely with the MOM Delivery Managers in support of their portfolio of projects and applications.  They will also work collaboratively with peers from other delivery domains and EPMO as well as IT Finance on standards and best practices.

Acts as the central administrator of the MOM project portfolio including the processing of all new project requests or supporting the administration of Agile product backlog

Supports the Delivery Managers and Project Managers with project administrative updates including resource demand, budgets and schedules.

Partners with PM to coordinate the timely onboarding/off boarding of resources with the Project Team ,HR/Finance, 3rd party vendors and TJX support groups

Provides regular operational reports including demand/capacity, utilization, and allocation; creates new reports as needed

Performs portfolio level project status and financial reporting and analysis to identify opportunities and/or problems.  Presents findings to Project Managers and Domain Delivery Managers

Provides regular project portfolio reports including portfolio dashboards and status reports; supports regular stage gate portfolio review meetings

Coordinates and supports the annual project portfolio process

Supports the annual cost center budget process

Partners with the EPMO on defining new project portfolio reporting processes and standards

Analyzes operational and project metrics/KPIs to ensure quality and operational efficiency; provides process improvement guidance.

May lead process improvement initiatives

May manage small projects and/or the stabilization phase of larger projects

Will be required to adapt activities to support waterfall and agile processes

 

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and or Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.

1+ years overall IT experience.

Technical skill levels required: MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Visio and MS Word

Experience with project and resource management methodologies and best practices.

Exceptional interpersonal skills and written communication skills.

Ability to influence others to achieve results.

Ability to work cross functionally within IT.

Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

Strong organization skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work in a fast paced, demanding, and fluid environment.

 

Preferred:

Experience with Agile methodology and DevOps delivery model a plus

Experience working in a Global environment

Experience working in a controlled/validated environment (Sarbanes Oxley)

Advanced degree and applicable certifications a plus.
