Job Summary:

 

Manages the overall operations of the Inventory and Accuracy Control teams. Ensures merchandise is effectively inspected and quality checked from a financial control perspective and that all merchandise movement meets with company standard operating procedures and best practices. Ensures that cycle counts are performed in a timely manner per company best practices.  Manages inventory adjustments as they relate to the general stock ledger to correctly report shrink.  Partners with LP and Finance on all shrink related issues.  Hires, trains, develops, and leads Inventory Control team across multiple shifts to effectively streamline the quality control and accuracy processes, resulting in lower distribution costs and an accurate inventory position.

 

 

Major Areas of Responsibility:

 

  • Ensures all planned and scheduled cycle counts of reserve and active locations are completed in a timely manner according to company standards.  Plans and executes the established cycle count program to meet financial requirements annually. 
  • Involves the Leadership on issues that need immediate attention that cannot be resolved. 
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ensures merchandise shipped to our customers meets our requirements through accuracy checks.
  • Ensures all quality audits for operational areas are completed per best practices and all reports are accurate.  Reports all findings daily and weekly to Operations. 
  • Ensures building utilization reporting is maintained and makes call outs to Area Operations Manager as needed.  Partners with Consolidation and Operations teams to effectively and efficiently utilize space.  Supports all re-slot projects and monitors inventory movement to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Partners with the IT and Engineering teams on system issues and all IT system changes as it relates to the inventory management.  Executes systemic location and aisle changes to support capacity needs. 
  • Partners with the MC team on PO receiving reconciliation and problem solving
  • Coordinates resolution of unavailable quantity issues with Production Planning in a timely manner.  Works with Production Planning Manager on cancellation items that are negatively impacting the business.
  • Partners with Merchandise Control Manager on processing Return to Vendor (RTVs) and Mark Out of Stock (MOS) pulls.
  • Partners with Customer Returns team to resolve item and customer order issues as needed.
  • Executes all damage product adjustments as needed in partnership with Operations and LP.
  • Manages multi-shift Inventory Control team and develops Associates for future growth within the department and organization. Coaches team on performance and provides feedback. Motivates team to achieve efficiency and productivity goals. Conducts performance reviews, interviews and discipline/documentation as needed.

 

  • Minimum experience required to perform this job:
  • 3-5 years of management experience  
  • 3-5 years of inventory control or fulfilment operations experience

 

  • Extensive knowledge of inventory control and retail fulfillment operations
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Understands inventory transactions and their impact on shrink/financials
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems
  • Must be adaptable and possess excellent negotiating skills
  • Ability to influence all levels of management
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously

This position has a starting salary range of $80,500-$102,700

 

Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

This position is eligible for an annual incentive as well as long-term incentives.
