Your responsibilities

The Maintenance Technician Supervisor carries out the repair and maintenance of machinery, equipment, building and facilities according to the assigned schedule. The position requires a broad knowledge of maintenance skills including electronics, mechanical, hydraulics, plumbing, welding, carpentry, fabrication and a basic knowledge of electrical repair.

1. Inspects all facility equipment and performs required preventive maintenance procedures. Installs, repairs, rebuilds, and performs any required extraordinary maintenance operation on all machinery and mechanical equipment used in production and related services at the facility. To perform these duties satisfactorily the employee must have broad knowledge of:

·  Diagnosis of machine malfunctions and operating difficulties.
·  Principles of repairs or adjustments to keep equipment in production.
·  Principles of rebuilding machines, components and attachments.
·  Dismantling, inspecting, machining and replacing all the required parts.

2. Performs skilled operations such as welding and electric repairs, aligning bearings, spindles, and shafts; adjusting feed and limit mechanisms, jibs, and ways. Inspects and ensures proper functioning on hoists and lifting devices.

3. Performs skilled operations relevant to both Ordinary and Extraordinary Maintenance on all the Electronic Equipment currently available at the WI facility (SALT lines) and is trained to repair any new equipment that may eventually be introduced.

4. Assists in performing various activities relative to the installation and relocation of existing equipment. This may involve dismantling, erection, leveling, fitting and aligning operations. Provides written updates to the Operations Manager on the status of assigned maintenance projects.

5. Becomes certified in the usage, inspection and standard maintenance (oil changes, lubrication, small electric repairs, etc.) on all the fork trucks, eventually advising when the extent of the damages requires the intervention of an authorized technician from the Dealership.

5. Administers the maintenance schedule in CMMS. Maintain documentation for labor and material expenses by asset number. Administers the storage and replenishment of maintenance materials and spare parts.

6. Performs preventive maintenance on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning units.

7. Follows established corporate safety policies and procedures. Assists in inspecting and maintaining all the safety equipment in the facility, extension power strip inspections, and personal equipment log updates.

8. Enters purchase requisitions for replacement parts, tools, etc., that are required for the maintenance function. Schedules and supervises labor and/or subcontractors to support maintenance projects. Works with the appropriate resources to plan and execute cost, labor, materials and equipment for maintenance function/projects.

9. Repairs any defective inventory part either coming from Purchasing or from the Assembly Department and reports upon its completion.

10. Prepares required documentation related to contractors performing work on the company’s premises.

11. Other duties as assigned.

Completion of a formalized school program in industrial maintenance or electronic equipment (PLC, CNC machines) is required. Experience with the repair of electronic equipment is preferred.
