Accounting Analyst - maternity cover -
based in Drogheda

Position Overview

As Accounting Analyst you will primarily focus on accurate and timely accounting of payroll related balance sheet and income statements for smaller and less complex payroll populations. As each country has its own unique regulations with regards to associate compensation and taxation of the same, your role will be to ensure payrolls are accounted timely and accurately which requires analysis of P&L and balance sheet.

In this position you will report to the Payroll Accounting Manager and closely work with the Payroll Delivery Team, EMEA Global Mobility & Equity Tax Manager, Legal Entity Controllers, the Financial Planning team and Payroll Strategic Partners.   

Key Responsibilities

·  Accurate accounting of payroll related balance sheet and income statements including reporting to OPEX Controllers and Legal Entity Controllers potential P&L risks and opportunities. Preparation and recording of all payroll related accruals including bonus, holiday pay, pensions, etc.
·  Analysis of balance sheet accounts and preparation of reconciliations ensuring follow-up on and appropriate action to ensure balance sheet is appropriately aged and cleared timely.
·  Preparation of employee actual cost dashboard and issuing of same to OPEX Controllers on a monthly basis.
·  Preparation and execution of payroll related intercompany recharges.
·  Preparation of analysis, provision of backup documentation and coordination of statutory audit information requests working closely with Legal Entity Controllers to deliver all inputs to the external audit firms. Preparation of analysis, audit sampling and information requests for the internal audit department for end-to-end payroll process. Ensure Sarbanes Oxley narratives accurately reflect the current process and controls.
·  Preparation of ad-hoc country specific reporting declarations and submission to relevant tax authorities.
·  Provision of subject matter expertise for payroll processes and response to accounting queries escalated from internal stakeholders.

What you need to be successful


As a big part of this role is communicating with internal stakeholders within a multi-cultural environment, across multiple levels within the organization, and with external partners, cultural sensitivity, the ability to organize and prioritize in a fast-paced virtual environment, as well as excellent written and spoken English and strong communication skills are required (bilingual desirable).

Basic Qualifications and Experience
·  University / Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field. 
·  Actively pursuing an Accounting qualification (with ACA, ACCA, ICMA, CIMA, or other recognized accounting bodies).
·  A minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience in accounting and/or payroll with a good understanding of internal controls mechanisms.
·  Familiarity with Operational Excellence / Continuous Improvement principles and desire to redesign processes and systems to create efficiencies.
·  Excellent comprehension of payroll taxes and social security regulations. 
·  Excellent SAP (HR, FI, CO) knowledge and skills.
·  Intermediate/advanced Excel skills.
·  Ability to establish and define processes, interrelationships, key controls to monitor and improve processes to facilitate the efficient and effective execution of payroll accounting activities.
