Job description

The Avenue Cookery School is a small and mighty family run company that teaches cooking to all ages and abilities! We are a fun little team bursting with energy and drive who are seeking a like-minded, native English speaking Marketing and Admin Volunteer to join our team ASAP.

We are looking for a hard-worker who is very efficient, reliable, has initiative, knowledge in marketing and with strong written skills. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking for experience in Marketing and Admin and enjoys working in a small business with a relaxed, fun atmosphere.

The role will include assisting our PR & Marketing Manager and our Accounts and Events Manager - maintaining our classes on other platforms, our blog and social media among other things. There will also be an element of research, contacting potential customers over email and fulfilling certain admin jobs. It's the perfect environment to implement your ideas and knowledge into a small business that are always open to trying new angles. There is always something to be done so there is no reason for clock watching, thumb twiddling or personal phone use - a get things done attitude is essential!

It is very important that the person we work with is a hard worker but at the same time easy going as mentioned we are a fun family run business and it is not a 'clock-work' operation. We are all straight forward and to the point so need someone who can take constructive criticism and can be honest back. Being flexible in the role is a must as we are a small company and, when needed, all pitch in together but a lot of the time you will be given work to get on with alone.

Hours are 9-5pm. London based travel will be covered and lunch provided. The candidate will need their own laptop.

Great for those interested in food and cooking, and who want to be part of a fun close team. You will most definitely improve your food knowledge as well as gain some good knowledge of Marketing and running a small business.

Strong writing skills are essential to the role - we will ask you for a short sample of your written work to look over before inviting you to interview.

PLEASE make your application personal and specific to the job and addressed to me, Emma. - I will not read past the first line if it is a generic email - we are a personal company and want to work with like-minded people.

Desired profile

You will not be judged on whether you have a degree or not, but experience and/or a degree in Marketing would be a major plus!

Make every future a success.
