The Avenue Cookery School is a funky, fun and family-run business teaching cooking to all ages and abilities! We're a small team with lots of energy and drive seeking a like-minded Chef Teacher who specialises in Indian cuisine to join our team! You would assist and work closely with our head family-chefs, Diana and Richard, who will offer you guidance and support.

Our team have years of experience and heaps of knowledge ready to share with the right person!

The candidate needs to be very efficient, reliable, has initiative, speaks and understands English at a high level, experience in Indian cooking, knows their way around a kitchen and who has a good laid back character!

This role is a truly amazing way to learn more about teaching and foods of the world! If you have a passion in food and want to pursue a career in teaching in the food industry, this really is the best way to gain invaluable experience. It’s not for the faint of heart as the kitchen is fast paced and will involve helping the chefs mis en place, cleaning, tidying and general kitchen upkeep. Including washing up and eventually helping and guiding students - those who are afraid to get their hands dirty need not apply! No reason for clock watching, thumb twiddling or personal phone use - a get things done attitude is essential!

It is very important that the person we work with is a hard worker, but at the same time easy going and loves a laugh as we are a fun family run business and it is not a 'clock-work' operation. We are all straightforward and to the point so need someone who can take constructive criticism and can be honest back. Being highly organised, tidy and flexible in the role is a must as we are a small company and, when needed, all pitch in together as a team but at other times you will be given some work to get on with alone.
