This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified vehicle tester to work on the Four Line Modernisation project (4LM). 4LM is a project to upgrade the signalling systems of four of London Underground's most important railway lines: Circle, District, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan. Between them they account for 40% of the Underground's traffic.

We're looking for an experienced signalling vehicle tester to run fleet fitment pre-installation check outs (PICOs) on the London Underground SSR fleet. The role will also be required to support dynamic system integration testing on the mainline railway. This role is ideal for a flexible and diligent vehicle tester who's keen to develop and achieve Thales' specific vehicle system test licence.

Key responsibilities and tasks:

· Complete system testing activities of relevant train borne equipment
· To deliver the testing programme to agreed timescales in accordance with published plans
· Ensuring correct test procedures are available to complete allocated tasks
· Ensuring adequate safety arrangements are in place during testing activities
· Completing allocated testing activities in accordance with approved test procedures, test specifications and test plans
· Completing necessary testing documentation on completion of testing activities
· Participating in the preparation and review of testing documentation with particular emphasis on compliance to standards and practice
· Directing testing activities of any project assistants
· Use problem solving skills to generate change with respect to quality, costs and test cycle reductions
· Provide input to test reports for system integration and commissioning activities
· Establishing and maintaining effective communications with key stakeholders and colleagues
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:


· Proven track record and experience of vehicle testing & commissioning
· Holder of an IRSE Mod 3C or test license is essential
· Knowledge of automatic train operation
· Experience of using Microsoft Office and databases
· Effective communication skills
· A degree, HNC or OND would be an advantage but is not essential
