POSITION TITLE: Jr Software Tester

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

A Junior Test Engineer is responsible for the design, conduct, and reporting of verification and validation activities for Thales Canada – Defence and Security division

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

As a key member of the Thales Canada Engineering Team, the Junior Test Engineer will be will be required to perform the following test engineering activities:

· Perform structured testing techniques;
· Observe test guidelines and company internal processes;
· Participate to requirements review;
· Prepare requirements traceability matrices;
· Produce and deliver formal and informal test documentation such as test procedures and test reports.
· Design, implement, and use test scripts;
· Execute verification, regression, and qualification tests of software releases in accordance with test plans and procedures;
· Raise and track software defects when required;
· Verify resolution of software defects;
· Evaluate test coverage and test results;
· Report on test engineering activities;
· Perform related software quality activities; and
· Use Case tools (e.g. Requirements Management, Configuration Management, Change Management).

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

The candidate we are seeking must have:

· A College Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent;
· Two years experience in the conduct of testing, use of automated test tools, requirements review, and structured testing techniques, in a client / server environment;
· Proven verbal communication skills in English is necessary, along with the ability to produce high quality English documentation; and
· Proficient knowledge of Windows XP, Microsoft Office applications, and SQL..

The ideal candidate would have:

· Previous experience with DOORS, Rational ClearCase and ClearQuest software;
· Previous experience with agile software development methodologies; and
· Knowledge of DND Land Forces Command and Control Systems and their software applications;

All applicants must be able to obtain a Canadian NATO Secret clearance and meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the Canadian Controlled Goods Registration Program and ITAR.
