We are currently looking for an Intern- Software Engineer to join the Thales Avionics, a subsidiary of Thales USA team in Melbourne, FL.

The Intern- Software Engineer participates on software product development scrum teams delivering high quality in-flight entertainment systems to commercial airline customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Development of software products by writing, testing, and documenting code with guidance from Thales developers

• Utilize the department's development infrastructure, development processes and software programming techniques and provide feedback to the team

• Learn how to generate technical requirements and processes within Thales IFE standards

• Partner with functional groups as needed

• Other duties as assigned by Team Leader

Required Skills and Experience:

• Candidate for Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Regular attendance is required, must be onsite, no telecommuting

• Must have a positive attitude

• Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the Thales culture, that is, exhibit the Thales values of Compliance, Respect, Innovation, Responsibility, Teamwork

• Ability to communicate technical issues in an assertive and tactful manner

• Must be well groomed and maintain a professional appearance

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Exposure and passion for one or more of the following technologies (C++, Python, )

• Exposure to developing in a Linux and/or Windows Environment

• Experience with compilers (e.g. GCC), debuggers (e.g. GDB), bug-tracking (e.g. Jira) and source code management tools (e.g. Stash) or similar
