The Role
In addition to developing manufacturing equipment and processes, Manufacturing Engineers work with cross-functional teams throughout the entire product lifecycle. You will work closely with Design Engineering, Quality and Production to take vehicle design changes and new vehicle designs from initial concept through prototype development and into full production.

Responsibilities

·  Design of manufacturing equipment and fixtures
·  Specification development for manufacturing equipment
·  Close collaboration with external equipment suppliers on equipment design
·  Management of external equipment suppliers from equipment development through buyoff
·  Validation and characterization of new equipment and fixtures for introduction to the production floor

Desired profile

Requirements

·  Proficiency designing mechanical equipment, fixtures and tooling in CAD (Catia is a plus).
·  Understanding of GD&T
·  Proficiency in mechanical assembly (press fits, adhesive bonding, fastener selection)
·  Experience designing automated manufacturing equipment
·  Experience introducing new equipment and new processes into a production environment
·  Experience creating process documentation
·  Experience with design for manufacturability
·  Experience with precision adhesive dispensing is a plus
·  Experience transitioning products from prototype to production is a plus
·  Knowledgeable about production quality metrics is a plus
·  Able to work under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
·  Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
·  Well organized with meticulous attention to detail
·  Mastery of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc (MS Office suite)
·  Automotive / High Volume manufacturing experience is an asset
