The Role
Lead and manage tooling programs from initial processing to homeline tryout. This includes managing the timeline, setting up all major milestone reviews, tracking engineering changes, reporting out job status, and insuring that tools are approved and ready for production.
Responsibilities
· Promote and insure safe working practices and a healthy work environment
· Promote and insure Tesla policies are enforced.
· First point of contact for Fremont for your assigned jobs
· Set up and lead all major milestone reviews
· Maintain and update timelines
· Insure major milestones are being met
· Interact with all department leaders and associate managers
· Coordinate and manage all engineering changes
· Insure all departments have what they need to do their job
· Insure tryout steel is ordered and in-house when required
· Coordinate and manage early part requirements
· Manage part feedback from Fremont
· Insure buyoff requirements and checklists are complete
· Coordinate buyoff activities
· Report all safety issues in writing to the Operations Manager and the Health and Safety Specialist
· Maintain a neat, clean and organized work space
Desired profile
Requirements
· High School diploma or GED
· Journeyman Tool and Die Certificate- (preferred not required)
· Bachelor degree (preferred not required) and/or at least 3-5 years’ experience in a tool and die shop or stamping facility
· Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a tool and die shop or stamping facility
· Working knowledge of GD&T
· Some travel required - including international
