The Role
The successful candidate will have basic various welding and joining technologies and related equipment. Experiences with steel, aluminum and hybrid welding are preferred.
Responsibilities
· Responsibility for commissioning welding systems, implementation, and programming under instructions
· Responsible for welding testing.
· Responsible for continues process optimization in current production environment
· Assist production in all quality and process related weld topics and issues.
· Support and assist maintenance team in troubleshooting difficult breakdowns and chronic equipment failures.
· Develop maintenance weld training program and perform the training
· Procedures & PMs, develop & maintain proper documentation of: all necessary procedures; periodic maintenance tasks, Process control, etc.
· Able to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
Desired profile
Requirements
· Currently working towards a BS, MS, or advanced degree in welding engineering or mechanical engineering.
· Extensive experience with at least one or two of the following welding processes: Resistance spot welding, laser welding, laser brazing, stud welding, arc welding.
· Self-managed and committed to working in a fast-paced environment
· Experience in welding of aluminum and welding of mild and high strength steels is preferred
· Experience in setting up and running weld monitoring systems is a plus
· Proven internship and project management experience is a plus.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs.
· Good overall people management skills.
· Solid communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Basic robotic programming skills is a plus
