The Role
Tesla Motors is seeking a radar engineer with 1-3 years of integration, calibration, and validation experience with automotive radar systems and components. The engineer will support Tesla's advanced driver assistance and autonomous driving programs.
Role Responsibilities:
· Responsible for Integration and installation of radar systems into Tesla’s prototype fleet.
· Support and maintenance of sensor systems.
· Definition and documentation of test cases and strategy.
· Analysis and documentation of test data and results.
· Definition and gathering of sensor specifications.
· Evaluation and management of supplier deliverables, prototypes, and samples.
· Evaluation and reporting of system performance.
· Development of test instrumentation and data collection systems.
Requirements
· Have a solid understanding of the theory of operation of radar systems and their strengths/limitations.
· Experienced with installation and integration of radar systems into vehicles.
· Familiar with validation and regulatory testing process for driver assistance systems such as ACC, AEB, LDW/LKW, sign detection, parking assist.
· Working knowledge of CAN and ADAS radar sensor interface.
· Ability to parse and analyze large amounts of data from test logs.
· Experience with hardware in the loop/software in the loop testing environments.
· Have strong troubleshooting skills with an attention to detail.
· Passionate about electrical/electronic systems, new technologies, and cars.
· Have solid technical breadth in electrical and software engineering.
· Familiarity with electromagnetic fields and waves, computer vision, sensor fusion, and vehicle control concepts is a plus.
