About The Job

About the Online Creative and Content Team

Our team is made up of Front End Developers, Digital Designers, Copywriters and Delivery Leads. Together we are responsible for defining and executing digital content across three of Tesco's primary online ecommerce businesses; Tesco Direct, F&F Clothing and Tesco Groceries for the UK and Ireland.
As a key part of delivering experiences on crucial customer touchpoints, we work in collaboration with Brand, Digital Marketing, UX and commercial teams on projects of all sizes.
We inspire, design and deliver the very best digital creative and content for our customers. Always optimising to drive engagement, conversion and satisfaction.

Main Responsibilities

The Role Front End Developer

Whilst specific responsibilities will be dependent upon the changing needs of the Tesco business, the following provides an overview of the role's key responsibilities and measures:

Front-end development of pages, assets, modular components and new features to support online trading, campaigns and propositions - ensuring coding best practice adhered to and continuous improvement of the online experience.

Responsibilities

Writing code that is best practice, meets coding standards & adheres to responsive guidelines where necessary.
Providing on-time, quality and reasoned solutions to assigned work - to support online trading needs.
Maintaining & developing code guidelines where necessary.
Quality, testing and validation processes.
Communicating & collaborating effectively with the team, managing stakeholders on timings, issues & dependencies.
Working closely with Creative and Content, UX, and UI teams to deliver accurate and engaging content.
Being passionate about code and keeping up-to-date with new trends in the market.
Excellent attention to detail and maintains high standards of quality and efficiency in all work.
Reviewing own work and others to continuously improve on the online customer experience.
Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence.

Experience relevant for this job:

Knowledge of web code, design & responsive page layout techniques for cross- browser / platform / device
Responsive design & touch screen principles
Knowledge of AA W3C and WAI current standards
Creating & editing templates for CMS / web dev framework
(Teamsite / ATG would be advantageous)
Understanding of accessibility guidelines
Defect resolution & problem-solving skills.
Worked within a creative team.
