About The Job
I work with business teams to develop and provide credible data and insight analysis to support key decision on changes to the operating model.
Main Responsibilities
· Providing relevant and credible information to support Business Support project managers / operating model
· Analysis / ad-hoc requests, using efficient data mining and modelling techniques from appropriate data sources.
· Presenting data in an objective, compelling but simple way, that is appropriate to the audience, so that it is clear what the data is showing which supports or dispels misconceptions / opinions and enables the right decisions to be made (e.g. department profitability)
· Determining the benefits of change work and providing recommendations on how best to proceed. Measuring the actualised benefits after a change has been made
· Developing tools / models to identify deviations from the norm, which provide the business with unique pieces of insight that can be translated to business improvements - for example the barcode scanning model which highlights products that take longer to scan at the checkouts, impacting throughput
· Identifying the necessary changes needed to maintain the integrity of productivity data sources and opportunities for development to provide accurate data in the most efficient way
· Linking with colleagues across the business to share models / information and understand all data sources available that could be used to support analysis including Customer, Finance and People data
· Following the Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence
Ideal Candidate
Ideally the successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
· Communication skills
· Analytical and insight skills
· Technical skills - Data Warehouse, MS Office including visual basic Excel skills
· Planning and organising
· Financial Acumen: cost and benefit tracking
· Experience of data analysis and data modelling
· Good degree from a recognised institution (preferably in Mathematics, a Science or similar)
· Technology such as SAS, Matlab/Python, SQL, Business Intelligence tools, Hadoop
· Regression modelling
· Optimisation/Linear Programming
