SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for the initial production and subsequent control/reporting of all Planning related functions for the Project team and onward reporting to the Deepwater Delivery Assurance Group. This position is for Atlantic Canada and Mexico Projects initially but will support other deep-water delivery projects as required and be based in Houston.

SKILL/ KNOWLEDGE:
• Engineering and/or Business Qualification to Degree level is preferable but not essential.

• 10 years' experience within the Oil and Gas industry and proven track record in Planning within Project Management.

• Thorough understanding of all aspects of Planning within an Owner environment is essential.

• Experience of working on Offshore Exploration prospects with knowledge of well delivery processes through all stages from Assess to Execute would be advantageous.

• Ability to create detailed working level schedules and subsequently report upon progress at the summary level highlighting potential problem areas with recommended remedial actions is essential.

• The ability to identify and communicate Risks and/or Opportunities throughout the schedule cycle is essential.
• Detailed knowledge of Primavera and other planning tools are essential (eg MS Office/Project).
• Flexible and willing to work to tight deadlines with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.

• Capability to identify, define and analyze data from a complex multidisciplinary environment is essential.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills; Spanish language skills is a bonus but not essential along with demonstrating solid team working skills is a key requirement.
• Prepare and coordinate the Summary and Working level plans for all well delivery phases ensuring they are fully endorsed by the project team.

• Provide monthly reporting data along with any other ad hoc planning requests to the Deepwater Delivery Assurance Group based in Uxbridge. Regular communication with the team based in Uxbridge will be required on an ongoing basis.

• Engage with other similar ongoing exploration prospects within the company to maintain standard templates and to ensure lessons learned from previous prospects are valued and utilized. Again much of this will be achieved with communication with the team based in Uxbridge.

• Prepare, maintain and monitor the projects schedules, and organize planning sessions on schedule updates and weekly/bi-weekly/monthly reports and other management reports as needed.
• Assist in Project Closeout reports and provide updates to functional group
• Review and input to the Management of Change Process to identify potential schedule impacts.
• Role will require travel to St John's, Calgary or Mexico City.
• Develop external planning reports for our Prospect Partners as required. DECISION MAKING:
• Potentially mentoring of junior CNOOC staff /Graduates may be required.
• To develop the required documentation to support the Review and Approval process for internal approval through the entire WDP (Well Delivery Process.

This position is located in Houston with business trips required to St John's (Newfoundland), Calgary (Alberta) or Mexico City
