Project Quality Engineer, Surface

Dunfermline

We are currently looking for a Project Quality Engineer in the Surface department, reporting to Aurelien Bauple, Project Management Office Manager.

In this role you will ensure that all customer requirements are respected all along the projects execution and interpreting customer's quality requirements.You will be the point of contact for customer and vendors during project execution, and coordinate customer audits and inspections.

You will establish Quality documentation, following up with relevant internal departments and/or vendors to make sure the requirements are met and work closely with our Project Management and Procurement teams.

You will also actively assists in managing concession request resolution and takes steps to enable future prevention.

Main tasks

¡  At time of quotation analyses customer QA/QC requirements and establish Quality Test Plans.
¡  Interfaces with Project Groups to make sure the quote met the customer QA/QC requirement. Make sure the cost of these requirements are included in the proposed prices. Communicates information to appropriate parties and works closely with Project group and MFT to provide the best possible answer to tenders.
¡  Participate to the pre qualification meetings or pre manufacturing meeting with customers when appropriate, prepares and makes QA/QC presentations focusing on value to customer.
¡  Acts as a liaison between the Project Group and the customer to clarify issues regarding the needs and expectations of the customer about QA/QC .
¡  Ensure the project documentation is consistent.
¡  Acts as a liaison between the Project Group and the rest of the organization/vendors to clarify issues regarding the needs and expectations of the customer about QA/QC.
¡  Keeps abreast of new international standards and industry trends, communicates new information to FMC Technologies colleagues.
¡  Participate to the customer inspection if needed, and make sure we maintain good relationship with all customer's representatives.

Qualifications and experience

¡  BS Degree in Engineering or Quality Assurance/Quality Control (or equivalent).
¡  Substantial experience in Engineering or QC department, ideally in EPC company working on Subsea or Surface systems or at least in the Petroleum Sector.
¡  Flexibility and autonomy to adapt to variable workload.
¡  Demonstrated interpersonal, negotiating, and writing and presentation skills in order to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts.
¡  Some understanding of internal economic factors (cost, margins, profit impact of decisions) affecting assignment areas.
¡  Must be proficient in use of CAD and Database systems related to Engineering and QA/QC functions. PC skills with knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, project and Internet access software.
¡  Shows evidence of good organization and project planning skills.
¡  Skills or qualification in QC areas such as welding or NDT are advantageous.
