Project Engineer

Job Description
In this role, you will be responsible for managing the technical scope of one or several integrated offshore solutions projects. The Project Engineer plans, manages, coordinates and closes out all engineering deliverables ensuring schedule milestones, and overall quality for customer success. Typically, projects will have multiple, highly complex work scopes with significant customer and supplier collaboration throughout the project quote and execution phases. This is an advanced role within the projects organization which focuses on project scope development and engineering, and support for procurement, construction, installation, and planning for some life of field activities. Significant internal coordination and collaboration between various TechnipFMC engineering and quality functions is fundamental to the success in this role.

Responsibilities:

ā€¢ Creativity, planning and resourcefulness required in implementing the Project Execution process and ensuring projects are executed within the target timing and profitability.
ā€¢ Responsible for identifying, planning, monitoring and closing of project engineering deliverables.
ā€¢ Carry out contract familiarization reviews ensuring all project team members are aware of the project technical and quality requires both stipulated and implicit in contract and client requirements.
ā€¢ Assist the PM in performing internal Kick off meetings with Project Team, Operations, and/ or suppliers, subcontractors and fabricators.
ā€¢ Provide critical inputs to the Project Execution Plan (PEP), project reporting, change/ variation orders, project engineering plan updates and Document Register milestones.
ā€¢ Coordinates and manages discipline engineers and engineering resources managing risks/opportunities, changes, and monitoring compliance with TechnipFMC QHSES requirements and contract commitments.
ā€¢ Defines engineering coordination procedures, issues the basic data for design, and approves general project specifications.
ā€¢ Contributes to schedule and progress measurement preparation, actively controls engineering schedule execution and proposes corrective actions when needed.
ā€¢ Leads technical project execution, manages internal/ external interfaces, prepares & reviews master engineering documentation, engineering budget/ planning, and leads discipline engineers to complete tasks
ā€¢ Ensures timely internal and external reporting of engineering and design activities and progress.
ā€¢ Perform regular customer clarification and technical review meetings as required for project success.
ā€¢ Conduct system design reviews, and attend product design reviews as required to ensure customer / industry requirements are being satisfied and project technical objectives are met.
ā€¢ Provide support to operations (purchasing, quality, manufacturing, etc.) to facilitate project execution.
ā€¢ Guide the generation of system procedures (SIT/ Installation) and provide assistance during all test phases.
ā€¢ Organize any technical handovers to clients, third parties, or internal services teams as required and conduct a clean project technical closing with all stakeholders assisting PM with full project close out.
ā€¢ Coordinates work with other TechnipFMC design offices, as applicable.
ā€¢ Responsible for coordinating interfaces between engineering disciplines and/or procurement, construction, vendors, licensors, partners, and clients.
ā€¢ Builds and encourages a culture of safety with the project and project team.
ā€¢ Participate in business improvement initiatives as applicable including Health, Safety and the Environment

Other responsibilities may include:
ā€¢ Provide technical support to sales teams including review of customer specifications and clarifications.
ā€¢ Contribute to the quotation process and provides project management related information such as schedules and budgets as well as lessons learned for future quote work with clients.
ā€¢ Represents TechnipFMC towards clients, partners, subcontractors and vendors for technical subjects and may contribute to business development initiatives by reporting information or suggestions to management.
ā€¢ Ensures timely approval of engineering and material requisitioning documents from the client as well as timely technical and economic definition of change orders and/or claims.
ā€¢ Builds and maintains relationship with customer and other stakeholders associated with the project and serves as the single point of contact to customer designated project leads and related stakeholders.
ā€¢ Creates a quality and HSE oriented work climate that encourages client satisfaction and HSE consciousness among the project team.
ā€¢ Builds trust within the team and between the various client interfaces.
ā€¢ Contributes to people development by interfacing with business unit management, specific managers for project personnel and the contacts within People & Culture.
ā€¢ Manages project interfaces with third parties and any offshore interfaces.
ā€¢ Contributes to defining and coordinating permitting process with local authorities
ā€¢ Ensures the development of any installation, services, and life of field activities implicit with project delivery. These may become part of the project scope.

You are meant for this job if

Ā·  Bachelors degree in Engineering or Business Administration with a certification in Project Managment (PMI or equivalent).
Ā·  Understanding and experience of a Fabrication Yard work or Site work is desirable.
Ā·  Knowledge of Surface Drilling and Completion or Production Systems is a plus.
Ā·  At least 14 years of experience in engineering functions. Experience of about 3 years in project engineering ideally working for the oilfield industry or handling projects for the oilfield industry is desirable.
Ā·  Demonstrates understanding of the design, function, and application of projects/ products.
Ā·  Ability to coordinate multiple projects, tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ā·  Must demonstrate ability to develop effective overall project schedules, budgets, and execution plans for project technical and engineering deliverables.
Ā·  Previous experience or training on Surface Drilling and Completion Systems, Flow line installations, hook up engineering, Shallow Water Production Systems, etc..
