JOB PURPOSE (summary of outputs of the job)

This position is within the Finance Department (General Ledger team), reporting ultimately to the GL manager but also with reporting lines to the TMOS financial accountants.

The GL department offers various shared service activities to the business units with TUK and this role primarily provides services to TMOS.

The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for applying accounting principles and ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures are followed.

¡  Full responsibility and accountability for accuracy of TMOS GL information for the offshore pools.
¡  To provide a value-added service to TMOS, demonstrating the ability to pick up new areas and show initiative
¡  To build up a strong working relationship with the TMOS accountants
¡  To challenge and review existing procedures/processes
¡  To be an active team player within the GL Team and undertake other GL tasks as and when required
¡  To be a key player in enhancing the reputation of the GL Team across the business units

4.

KEY ACTIVITIES

4.1 Monthly/ Quarterly Accounts

¡Monthly Preparation and upload of revenue and cost journals into PA and GL.

¡Maintain and update revenue and cost accruals/prepayments

¡Monthly accounting entries for TOMS

¡Liaising with TOMS at each month end to obtain information on training, ATPI, Contract days, SAT advances and salaries cut off

¡Complete Marine Projects accounting entries for OPS projects

¡Preparation of journals for data clean-up of the relevant balance sheet accounts

¡Responsible for preparation of the balance sheet reconciliations for the main accounts for OPS, Equipment & RSU:

-Heliox Stock

-Oxygen Stock

-General accruals

-Prepayments

-Accrued Income

4.2 Interface with T-MOS

¡Main point of contact in the GL Team for OPS, Equipment & RSU Accountants

¡Attend Monthly / Quarterly Actuals Review for OPS, Equipment & RSU

¡Prepare and attend monthly balance sheet reviews with the OPS, Equipment and RSU Accountant

¡Organise Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations sign-off for areas of responsibility

4.3 Other GL tasks

¡Support GL and Consolidation Manager and Financial Accountant (TMOS) in achieving wider Finance Department objectives including involvement in ad hoc tasks when required.

·Assist with preparation of statutory accounts for the “small” entities

·Assist with the preparation of the quarterly group reporting accounts for the “small” entities and upload into Hyperion

¡Assist with SOX internal control testing

PERSON SPECIFICATION

5.

QUALIFICATIONS (professional, technical, academic)

Essential:

¡HNC in Accounting or Equivalent

Preferred:

¡HND/Accountancy Degree

¡Experience in an accounting role

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

Essential:

¡Advanced Microsoft Excel

¡Good understanding of Management Accounts and Sub-ledgers

Preferred:

¡Microsoft office 365 including Microsoft outlook

¡Oracle Applications or ERP experience
