Furnace Mechanical Engineer
The Furnace Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the execution of the mechanical portion of the scope for domestic and international ethylene furnace projects. This position has overall accountability to the Chief Mechanical Engineer, Furnace Mechanical Department Manager, and Furnace Mechanical Lead for scope assigned.
Job Duties:
ยท Work activities include collection and interpretation of engineering data and development of project design basis
ยท Ensure conformance to applicable government regulations, engineering codes and standards as well as company QA system, policies and procedures.
ยท Development of specifications and review client specifications procedures
ยท Prepare calculations, datasheets and drawings
ยท Prepare Inspection Attributes List for equipment and furnace component requisition
ยท Prepare Schedule of Required Vendor Documents
ยท Prepare technical requirements and requisitions
ยท Pro-active review and management of vendor technical submittals
ยท Develop project reference manuals
ยท Identification, submittal and resolution of scope changes and deviations
ยท Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
ยท Provides engineering support by answering technical questions and requests.
ยท Provide furnace mechanical completion check, support furnace dryout and help resolve field issues.
Skills/Qualifications:
ยท 5 years of total furnace mechanical engineering experience, strong leadership and inter-personnel skills
ยท A broad background in the specification, design, fabrication, procurement and installation of mechanical equipment is required.
ยท Working knowledge of recognized industry codes and standards including ASME, API, NACE, ANSI and ISO.
ยท Well-versed in preparing reports, writing technical specifications, preparing design calculations, studies, requisitions, technical bid evaluations and performing vendor document reviews for World Scale Olefins facilities.
