Job Title: Accountant

Job purpose:
Based in the Offshore Engineering Division (OED), the Accountants role focusses on two main responsibilities:
· General: Monthly reporting of OED budget (including cash flow, P&L, etc…) to the OED Manager
· Research and Development (R&D): Generate accurate monthly reporting of the OED R&D budget (status and forecast) to the OED Manager
· Project Support: Ensuring that intercompany invoices (issued by shared services team to projects / other entities) are settled by the due date; monthly status report to OED Manager.

Hierarchically reports to: OED Manager

Operationally reports to: OED Manager

Directly supervises: N/A

Key interactions (internally, externally):
OED – Admin team
OED – R&D Project Managers
TUK – Finance teams, especially GL team

Typical background and experience required:
Must have:
· Bachelor's Degree/Professional qualification in Business Finance / Accounting.
· Minimum of 1 to 2 years working experience in finance or cost control environment.
· Additional experience in working environment (planning, purchasing) would be valuable
· Good analytical skills
· Excellent IT skills, including advanced Excel (PivotTables, Pivot Charts etc)
· Experience of ERP software for cost control
· Ability to progress work independently
· Ability to interface with different parties
· Ability to work under pressure and tight deadline
· Able to take initiatives and follow-up with details
· Committed and dedicated
· Good command of English and an excellent communicator
· Ability to work in multi-cultural environment
Nice to have:
· Hands-on experience of cost control processes using Oracle / GEOS
· Familiarity with planning software (MS Project /, Primavera) preferred
· Familiarity with Sharepoint preferred

Main accountabilities:
General Budget Monitoring and Reporting
· Assist OED Manager in compiling the annual OED budget proposal
· Monthly monitoring and analysis of the actual performance against the budget and forecasts
· Prepare timely and accurate project monthly report, analyse and explain of the variances between the budget / forecast / actual
· Manhour analysis on monthly basis
· Prepare and advise TUK GL team on OED accruals on monthly basis
· Prepare OED Cashflow forecast/Actuals
· OED P&L (Budget/Forecast/Actuals) submission through group ERP tool

Control of OED R&D Budget and Planning
· Creation and update new R&D projects accounts and number, including detail of cost breakdown structure, sub-task creation into budgeting support tool.
· Monthly interface with each R&D project manager, for an update of actual budgets, committed POs and spent forecast. Overall OED R&D budget status to be consolidated for review by the OED Manager.
· Raise POs on behalf of R&D Project managers and follow monitor approvals, invoicing, variances etc
· Close out of past year R&D programs, when appropriate.

Project Support:
· Ensuring that intercompany invoices (issued by shared services team to projects / other entities) are settled by the due date; providing a monthly report of any outstanding invoices to OED Manager and investigating reasons for non-payment.
