Job Title: CMC - Construction Systems Engineer

Job purpose and organizational context:

The Construction Method Centre (CMC) is part of Global Construction (Onshore/Offshore GBU) and aims to support Projects in better preparing & controlling construction activities with the target to optimize construction costs & duration.
The CMC develops and deploys construction engineering solutions providing construction engineering studies, services and construction IT tools to its clients – mainly internal (Projects and Regional Construction Departments/Operating Centers) – during EPC, FEED and Proposal phases.

Job purpose:

In charge to develop and deploy advanced construction IT supportive solutions to increase efficiency and performance of TechnipFMC projects execution at jobsite.
The Construction System Engineer will be involved in essential initiatives linked to:
• BIM / PIM (Building/Project Information Management);
• 3D solutions, 4D Planning;
• Database Management,BI Solutions
• Construction systems / EasyPlant


Reporting lines and interactions:
Report to: Construction Systems or Easy Plant Business manager.

Key interactions (internally, externally):
Internally: Project Leaders, Construction Discipline Specialists and Construction Systems team, IT develop team.
Externally: Construction & Engineering departments, Supervision at Site/Yard & Subcontractors, application/tool users.

Job scope :

Act as focal point of TechnipFMC in-house or market Construction Systems tools such as but not limited to:
- Construction & Completion Monitoring Tools: EasyPlant, EasyStructure, EasyPiping, etc.
- Tracking technology and systems such as RFID/Barcode connected to material Management tools
- 3D Construction tools, mobile apps and other supportive technologies
- BI Solutions

Construction System enhancements and/or development:
- Collect demands and feed backs from projects and construction department of operating centers
- Produce detailed functional specification answering business requirements
- Follow product development in relation with IT
- Conduct user acceptance test before final product release and support the deployment of new features
- Perform Technology Watch around 3D, BIM, RFID and all new technologies

Construction systems deployment
- Perform the required checks to ensure a proper quality of the tools and data
- Ensure proper integration with:
o engineering (model format, structure, attributes)
o spooling center
o planning (4D scheduling)
o Construction and Start-up tools admin teams
o IT for infrastructure

Support & training:
- Prepare and maintain training material up to date
- conduct communication campaign to present new technologies
- Perform trainings at site/yard to user's technologies.

Profile
Must have:
• Autonomous mindset, to propose, defend and carry initiatives from beginning up to successful deployment at site;
• Very proactive and confident in problem solving;
• Very good oral and writing skills (English);
• Experience of presentations and strong team spirit;
• Basic EPC experience (Project, Engineering, Construction);
• IT or data oriented mindset.

Nice to have:
• Knowledge/Skills in the following domains: database administration, BI, 3D, coding. Easy plant.

Additional information:
• The position is based in Rome (CMC Headquarter) with potential missions abroad (TechnipFMC Operating Centers, Regions and Sites/Yards).
