CNC Machinist (2nd Shift)

Qualifications Required:

Skills:

1.Setup and operate one or more Monarch VMC-150, Johnford or Makino vertical machining centers.
2.Complete working knowledge of computer numerical controlled machines, their operation and production methods.(Offset adjustment, minor editing functions, tool setting, insert nomenclature, tape checks).
3.Operation of the distributed numerical control system (DNC).
4.General knowledge of common materials and their machining characteristics.
5.Understand and apply required measuring devices and gaging to determine part dimensional and finish conditions.
6.Understanding of cutting tools with ability to determine discrepancies and needs for adjustment and/or replacement.

Experience:

Minimum of one (3) years vertical and/or horizontal machining center experience to +/- .0005” tolerances.

Capabilities:

1.Read and interpret blueprints, routers, machine tool setup sheets, machining charts.Organizational skills permitting operator to comply with FMC Technologies & ISO requirements.
2.Understanding of NC Programming to the extent that minor edits can be made to feeds, speeds and coolant conditions.
3.Ability and desire to interface with others to resolve problems and/or improve operation productivity and quality.Work and communicate in a multiple shift operation.
4.Light to heavy lifting.
5.Ability to spend 70 to 90 percent of attendance standing and/or walking.
6.Ability to understand inherent machine tendencies, identify minor/major machine trouble, and correct minor machine problems as necessary.
