Job description

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT ​​​​​

The main purpose of this job is to handle monthly closing activities, routine activities of statutory compliances like GST, income tax and Transfer Pricing assessments and withholding taxes and insurance accounting and coverage for the smooth business operations, statutory audit, and assist in budgeting process.​​​

KEY RESULTS AREAS (KRA) Main Deliverables ​​​​​

Monthly Closing, Budgeting & Forecasting and Accounting ​​​

Monthly- Routine Activities ​​​

·  Monthly accruals for expenses like Prepaid Insurance expenses, Legal and consulting, SCS membership fees, devaluation, CVD, warranty provision, depreciation, License Transfer etc
·  Booking and Controlling of Legal and Consulting Invoices in SAP.
·  Handling and reconciliation of GR/IR, Custom duty and foreign vendors
·  Ensure quarterly recharge are done DSW and other Group entities for various shared services
·  Coordinate year-end balance confirmation process with foreign parties
·  Handling of all inward and outward foreign transactions like purchases from SFL, IT services from DSW, CAPEX, Communication expense reimbursements and also the commission on the direct shipments.
·  Ensure timely remittances towards all the foreign transactions on monthly basis and coordinate to arrange all the documents required by the bank to execute the remittance​​ ​
·  Assisting Assistant Manager-MIS in the month closing process, submission of monthly and quarterly package in COGNOS
·  Ensure vendor's and customer's form is duly filled by the initiator and all the relevant details related tax, contact, bank etc are properly filled​​ ​

One time- annual basis ​​​

·  Assisting in the annual budget preparation and the forecast process
·  Assistance in YEP and quarter reporting completing budget and forecast related tasks
·  Assist in budgeting and forecasting for relevant areas​​ ​

Audit / Statutory and Legal Compliances: ​​​

·  Assist in preparation of balance sheet, profit & loss account, tax audits.
·  Prepare necessary information for Annual Corporate Tax return
·  Deposit withholding tax & GST on a monthly basis and also filing of the quarterly/ annual returns.
·  Responsible for GST payments, Work Contract Tax payment & their returns on monthly basis. Also ensure that the compliance is done as applicable in respective state of SIPL operations.
·  Preparation of data required to handle TP, income tax and GST assessments for all open years of audit
·  Maintenance of legal documents and records​​ ​

Insurance: ​​​

·  Reviewing property & health insurance and ensuring adequate coverage at all times.
·  Coordination with global team and local brokers during renewal of local policies in negotiating quotes / premiums coverage etc. and handling of claims.
·  Managing Insurance, contract and corporate data base​​ ​

KEY RESULTS AREAS (KRA) ​​​

·  Statutory and Tax Audit
·  Ensure statutory compliance (Direct and Indirect Taxes) like GST, TDS, WCT, etc
·  Coordinate with Corporate Tax and Transfer Pricing Team for assessments
·  Coordinate with GST consultant on regular basis for Tax payments and assessments
·  Coordination with global insurance team for renewals of all the insurances
·  Customer and vendor master creation​​ ​

MAJOR CHALLENGES ​​​

Open income tax & transfer pricing audits for many years demands lot of man hours for retrieving the old documents, like providing previous year's sales invoices, purchase invoices, copy of fixed asset's invoices, copy of other expense invoices, list of debtorsand creditors etc. The income tax and TP assessments are open for almost last 7-8 and information requirement for the open cases keep flowing in from the consultants​​​

·  Co-ordination for corporate tax transfer pricing cases leading to additional man hours
·  Coordination with global insurance team for all the insurances
·  Regular vendor and customer master request​​ ​

Jobholder's requirement: ​​​​​

Educational requirements- CA / CA Inter/MBA Finance​​​

Experience - 1-2 years ​​​​​

Language skills - English​​​​​

Other : Expert in MS office especially Excel & Powerpoint
