Description :

Position Purpose:

In this role you will oversee the global ion exchange resin laboratory to perform series of analysis for ion exchange resin, including the characterization of inorganic foulants using WDXRF and/or ICP-OES, the characterization and quantification of organics, exchange capacity, backwash appearance, microscopic examination, density and moisture content, etc. to support the global business. You will need to work closely with sales team/engineers to utilize your experience or expertise to provide them assistance in recommendations of analyses that should be conducted, interpretation of analytical results, identification of the IX resin condition, and provision of the professional consultation to customers.

Essential Responsibilities:

·  Oversees the ion exchange resin lab to ensure proper daily operation.
·  Conduct ion exchange resin analyses, including the characterization of inorganic foulants using WDXRF and/or ICP-OES, the characterization and quantification of organics, exchange capacity, backwash appearance, microscopic examination, density and moisture content, etc. to support the global business.
·  Be responsible for sample preparation, instrument set-up and analysis, data interpretation and data quality and report generation.
·  Perform regular maintenance and calibration of instruments and advanced trouble-shooting as required.
·  Closely monitor the resin laboratory supplies and chemicals inventories to meet the resin analysis requirements.
·  Develop analytical chemical techniques and identify/implement new technologies to enhance the current resin analytical capabilities & performance testing.
·  Strictly implement EHS policy in the work place.
·  Work closely with sales team/engineers on the interpretation of analytical results, identification of the IX resin condition, and provision of the professional consultation to customers.

Qualifications/Requirements:

·  BS degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Material Science or a related subject with 1 - 3 years industrial experience in industrial analytical laboratory.
·  Hands-on experience in the use of automated instrumental analytical techniques such as using WDXRF, Microscope, ICP-OES, auto-titrator, TOC, etc.
·  Experience and knowledge in resin chemistry and application, water chemistry and water treatment business.
·  Experience with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System)
·  English fluency required and multiple language skills desirable.

·  Knowledge and experience of industry and laboratory quality systems and standards, such as ISO 9001
