JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a motivated Process Engineer to join STMicroelectronics Malta. The role involves working in a team environment and interfacing with R&D, suppliers, and process engineers to support process development, optimization, and continuous improvement in manufacturing.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·  Optimization of process parameters and materials to improve yield, quality and achieve an improved robust solution.
·  Conducting wire bonding trials involving new technologies, processes, and methods.
·  Verifying and supporting the introduction of new recipes and processes for wire bonding, including the selection and validation of wires, capillaries, and bonding technologies/techniques.
·  Enhancement of the functionality of existing equipment as well as interfacing with equipment for data collection and monitoring.
·  Project management for new equipment acquisition for existing and new production lines including technical discussions with equipment manufacturers leading to technical specifications formulation, buyoffs (both occasionally at supplier site and inhouse), installations, and transfer to manufacturing, and project closure reporting.
·  Responsible for Process Quality and machine productivity, mean-time between interventions (MTBI) and Overall Equipment Efficiency.
·  To liaise with the Division and the group to discuss process improvements, qualifications or trials.
·  Participation is technical communities between the various worldwide ST sites for problem sharing and solutions.
·  Support on installed equipment base and liaising between production lines and equipment manufacturers.
·  Support for Audits, customer requests, data analysis and improvement programs.

Skills & Qualifications:

The ideal candidate shall:

·  Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
·  Ability to perform data analysis, interpret process/test results, and draw conclusions to support process optimization.
·  Understanding of basic materials science and/or process engineering principles (e.g., interaction of materials, process parameters, reliability).
·  Have good project management skills.
·  Be knowledgeable about 5S principles.
·  Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with production, engineering, and other stakeholders.
·  Be responsible, mature and disciplined.
·  Have a drive for excellence.
·  Be a good team player.
