Job description
The actual industrial context requests the certification of the RF performances with high accuracy and reliability. This certification is based on high frequency measurements (S-parameters, linearity and noise). Nowadays test solution exist for noise characterization up to 50 GHz with an accuracy of +/- 0.1 dB on noise figure measurement (value provided by the equipment supplier) by cold source methodology measurement.
Objective:
In parallel with the increase of the noise measurement capability up to 110 GHz at ST, the main objective of the training is the accuracy evaluation of the actual measurement setup up to 50 GHz and challenge the cold source methodology measurement by Y factor methodology measurement. This study will help to reply the actual challenge of the high performance circuit measurement with very low noise figure.
Main Tasks:
The training will first extract the accuracy of actual measurement setup up to 50 GHz. Then, the cold source methodology and Y factor measurement will be challenged. Finally, defininition the measurement accuracy and guideline for measurement up to 110 GHz will be performed.
