Job Description
STMicroelectronics (Malta) Ltd. is seeking to recruit an Environmental Sustainability Intern within the CCFS – Site Services- Sustainability Department. The job involves Waste Management and Circular Economy Programs supporting the sustainability targets and long-term vision of STMicroelectronics.
Main responsibilities
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Managing the generated waste of the company in line with legislative requirements of Malta and the sustainability targets of STMicroelectronics.
· Overseeing the Waste storage area of the Company, managing and accessing the associated risk of waste storage minimalizing and eliminating any potential risk.
· Being the interface between all the waste contractors of ST Malta. The person will be responsible for the contractual agreements with the waste contractors.
· Monitoring and analysing waste streams to identify opportunities for waste reduction and resource recovery.
· Assisting the maintenance of the related ISO management systems.
Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate shall:
· Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in the fields of general environmental studies, biology and chemistry.
· Familiar with the terms Industrial Sustainability.
· Have proven understanding of the Legal Environmental context of Malta Understanding of legal texts, such as regulations.
· Possess good communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
· Familiar with ISO management systems in a basic level (ISO 14001).
· Be able to work independently and adopt the fast changes of the domain.
· Good analytical skills and fast learning capabilities.
· User level of O365 tools.
