Mission
As a Customer Quality Engineer , you will act as a key interface between customers and internal cross-functional teams to ensure timely resolution of quality concerns, support customer satisfaction, and drive continuous improvement across the product lifecycle. You will contribute to the management of customer quality issues, support root cause analysis and corrective actions, and help strengthen the overall quality performance of semiconductor products.
Key Responsibilities
· Serve as the primary quality interface for assigned customers and ensure effective communication on quality-related matters.
· Manage customer complaints, quality alerts, and escalations through structured problem-solving methodologies.
· Lead and coordinate 8D , root cause analysis , and corrective/preventive action activities with relevant internal stakeholders.
· Analyze device, process, and field quality data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
· Support containment actions, failure analysis, and validation of corrective actions in collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, test, reliability, and supplier teams.
· Prepare high-quality technical reports, customer responses, and management summaries.
· Monitor customer satisfaction indicators and drive actions to improve quality performance.
· Participate in cross-functional reviews related to product quality, change management, and continuous improvement.
· Contribute to the deployment and maintenance of robust quality processes aligned with internal standards and customer expectations.
Requirements
Education
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering , Electronics , Materials Science , Physics , Quality Management , or a related technical discipline.
· Advanced degree is an advantage.
Experience
· Minimum 3 years of experience in semiconductor customer quality , quality engineering , product engineering , manufacturing quality , or a related technical role.
· Proven experience in customer-facing environments, preferably within the semiconductor , electronics , or high-technology manufacturing industries.
· Demonstrated experience in managing customer complaints, executing structured problem-solving, and driving corrective actions to closure.
Semiconductor Process Knowledge
· Good understanding of the semiconductor manufacturing flow , including:
· Wafer fabrication
· Wafer sort
· Assembly and packaging
· Final test
· Reliability qualification
· Failure analysis
· Knowledge of key process technologies and manufacturing steps such as:
· CMOS , BCD , MEMS , or other relevant platforms
· Lithography , etch , deposition , implant , diffusion , and metallization
· Die attach , wire bonding , flip-chip , molding , trim and form , and electrical test
· Understanding of yield loss mechanisms, process variation, defectivity, and process capability in semiconductor operations.
· Familiarity with cleanroom discipline, ESD control, contamination management, and process monitoring practices.
Semiconductor Device Knowledge
· Solid understanding of semiconductor device fundamentals and product behavior.
· Familiarity with product families such as:
· Power devices
· Analog and mixed-signal devices
· Microcontrollers
· Discrete devices
· Sensors or MEMS , depending on the product portfolio
· Ability to interpret datasheets, device specifications, qualification reports, and failure analysis results.
· Knowledge of common failure mechanisms and reliability concerns such as:
· Electromigration
· TDDB
· NBTI/PBTI
· ESD/latch-up
· Interconnect and package-related failures
· Understanding of the impact of process changes on device performance, reliability, and customer application environments.
Technical Skills
· Strong command of quality tools and methodologies, including:
· 8D problem solving
· 5 Whys
· Ishikawa/Fishbone analysis
· PFMEA / DFMEA
· CAPA
· SPC
· Root cause analysis
· Familiarity with quality management systems and standards such as:
· ISO 9001
· IATF 16949 , if applicable
· AEC-Q100/Q101 or equivalent semiconductor qualification standards, if applicable
· Ability to analyze data using tools such as Excel , Minitab , Power BI , or similar platforms.
· Experience with yield analysis, Pareto analysis, and statistical process monitoring is an advantage.
Communication and Leadership
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
· Strong ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders at all levels.
· Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with rigor, ownership, and responsiveness.
· Strong presentation, reporting, and escalation management skills.
· Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural, cross-functional, and matrix environment.

· Experience in semiconductor , electronics manufacturing , automotive , or industrial environments.
· Exposure to reliability testing, qualification activities, and failure analysis techniques.
· Familiarity with PCN/change management , APQP , PPAP , or customer-specific quality requirements.
· Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent quality training is a plus.
