Contract Manager (Tokyo, Japan)

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Contract Manager to join the STMicroelectronics Legal and IP Department at our Tokyo office supporting the company's business operations in Japan. This role is critical to ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and effective contract management. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both Japanese and English and capable of working in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

Reporting Lines

·  This position reports functionally to the Head of Legal for the region.
·  The role requires close cooperation with the regional legal team to ensure consistency and alignment in legal and regulatory matters.

Key Responsibilities

·  Coordinate the review, negotiation, and approval of contracts with internal teams and external partners, including customers, suppliers and other stakeholders.
·  Ensure all contracts comply with company policies, legal requirements, and relevant Japanese regulations.
·  Maintain comprehensive contract records and monitor contract lifecycle status.
·  Manage the DocuSign process for contract execution, ensuring timely and compliant electronic signing of agreements.
·  Provide guidance and training on contract management best practices and policy compliance.
·  Liaise with external law firms and consultants to resolve contractual issues as required, support risk mitigation, and oversee the company secretarial support activity in Japan.
·  Work closely with local Sales, Human Resources, Finance, and Management teams to ensure alignment on contracts and compliance.

Qualifications

·  Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
·  Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in contract management or a related function, preferably within a high-tech industry.
·  Fluent in Japanese and English (both written and spoken) is mandatory.
·  Knowledge of Japanese commercial law, regulatory environment, and contract practices, with possibly a focus on the semiconductor industry or the technology field.
·  Experience managing electronic signature platforms such as DocuSign is highly desirable.
·  Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
·  Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
