Job description

The Role:
The Investor Relations Intern must wear many hats, and is fundamentally responsible for identifying, screening, and attracting investors interested in investing in our startups. Once sourcing activities are completed, the role requires close collaboration with our investors to match their investment mandates with the funding requirements of the startups. This role requires someone who can research, analyze, and engage with global startups and prepare effective communication that will be used to engage our community of investors regarding the startup’s propositions.

Responsibilities will include:
Investment Readiness Support
Understanding the fundraising needs of our startups and guiding them to develop suitable fundraising strategies
Supporting the development of the startups’ investor engagement collateral: teasers, pitch decks, financial models, etc.
Working closely with our Investor Readiness Coach in Residence in supporting startups to become investor ready
Enriching and updating our investor and Insurtech transaction database
Managing relations between SBC InsurTech and Investors (Angels, Syndicates, and VCs)
Sourcing suitable investors for startups and facilitating introductions when the startups are ready
Shaping the investor readiness process to suit the needs of this specific cohort of startups
Contributing to the development of the Program’s investment curriculum and calendar via workshops, lunch and learns, fireside chats, networking events, etc.
Managing the investor readiness schedule and investor relations calendar in a timely manner
General Support
Supporting the team in a wide range of other tasks when required

The Investor Relations Intern must possess:
Knowledge and interest in startups, VC/investments, and both the insurance and technology industries
Analytical thinking and structured approach to solving problems
Good team and project management skills
Strong data management abilities
A good communicator and a commercial mindset
A good command of microsoft office suite
A can-do attitude

Working Hours: 9am - 6pm, Monday - Friday, with flexibility for evenings and weekends when necessary
Period: Immediate - 30 May 2018
