Senior Scientist - Oil & Gas

Job description

Novecare develops leading edge technologies that affect the behavior of fluids to give them cleansing, softening, moisturizing, hydrating, gelling, texturizing, penetrating or dispersing properties. Its products are found in shampoos, detergents, paints, lubricants, plant protection, mining and oil extraction.

The O&G R&I Chemist will Contribute to, participate in O&G research & innovation development projects for oilfield chemical applications. Interact with customers to participate in building partnerships in new product and technology development. Support Solvay O&G technical and business team to execute technology development projects. Participate in industry technical events and presentation. This position is located in our newly opened Solvay O&G R&I Center in Woodlands, TX.

Typical duties include:

· Initiate and propose new innovative concepts and solutions for O&G chemicals market
· Participate in and conduct laboratory tests for developing new and improved products, technologies
· Develop and maintain advanced O&G laboratory testing methods and equipment
· Provide technical supports on existing products and technology
· Provide technical supports to customers
· Communicate with customers regarding Solvay products and technologies
· Participate in industry technical conferences and events
· Write and contribute to industry technical papers and publications
· Contribute to patents filings and execution

· Travel to provide technical supports

Desired profile

Qualifications :

·  Ph.D in chemistry, chemical engineering, petroleum engineering or similar disciplines with related industry experience
·  At least 2+ years of Oil & Gas experience with organic synthesis and/or polymer synthesis experience preferred
·  Excellent problem solving and laboratory skills and proactive attitude for prompt response to technical and business challenges
·  Responsible for conception, design, plan and execution and interpretation of experiments
·  Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills
·  Team work attitude and demonstrated customer focus a must
·  Able to travel up to 10% of the time.
