The mission of the Marketing & Sales function is to maximize value creation for Solvay by delivering high level market and sales expertise. Its aim is to spread best practices and to map out growth opportunities and the best ways to leverage them throughout Solvay, in line with the GBU's needs.

Job Overview and Responsibilities

Lead the North American Region for Solvay Novecare’s Industrial Process Solutions (IPS) business, delivering all commercial KPIs including: Sales and Contribution Margin Budgets, Region targets for Account Receivable collections and Forecast Accuracy. Maintain an innovation projects pipeline, and successfully achieve new product introduction targets;  

·  Manage the team of Account Managers for the Region, allocate responsibility to fully represent the business at Key Accounts, Critical Accounts, Distribution and Inside Sales;
·  Work in a cross functional way with the other IPS Regions, Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain, Industrial, Product Management and others to advance and deliver the commercial KPIs
·  Optimize the product portfolio according to global policies; 
·  Define the Distribution strategy and contribute to Purchasing strategies;
·  Take ownership of major Customer relationships, and Key Account plans;
·  Lead Technical developments and strategies at key customers
·  Negotiate commercial agreements to meet objectives; 
·  Ensure regional promotional activities to support business development; 
·  Collaborate with R&D and market development teams to identify, select and manage new projects including new products or applications

Education and Experience

·  Bachelors Degree in a technical discipline (chemistry or chemical engineering preferred), MBA preferred;
·  A minimum of 3 years of sales management experience and five or more as Business or Account Manager engaged in complex solution selling to the specialty chemical sector is required
·  Experience in Metal Treatment, Lubrication, and/or other industrial applications is a strong plus


·  Strong commercial acumen and customer orientation is a key success factor for this position;
·  Track record of career growth and roles of increasing responsibility;
·  Track record of meeting/exceeding yearly quota; 
·  Strong contract negotiation/closing skills; 
·  Experience with product launch, development of 5 year strategic roadmap/operational marketing plan.
