Job Overview and Responsibilities:

The Production Engineer will be responsible for executing all aspects of operations (manufacturing, process, systems, quality, accounting, etc.) for the Augusta plant.  This position will be accountable for establishing (with the Production Coordinator) manufacturing plans, cost targets, and for meeting overall business unit objectives. Responsibility for being the primary contact for the Customer regarding quality and process issues.

Roles & Responsibilities:
•Ensuring safe operations by identifying and resolving unsafe acts and conditions within the unit.
•Running EPOs to qualify any changes in the unit. 
•Resolving operational difficulties and providing technical problem solving capability to eliminate production of nonconforming product.
•Debottlenecking production to increase run rates and achieve targeted production costs.
•Developing and implementing capital projects (as assigned) to support improvements in production.
•Managing the rework process for non-conforming product.  
•Drafting/reviewing new unit MIs to provide clear and concise instructions for the safe operation of the new equipment.
•Tracking and communicating key unit performance measurements including yields, costs, and reliability, production and quality metrics.
•Supporting ISO, PSM, and VPP requirements in the unit and becoming certified as internal auditor.
•Working with reliability engineer to support elimination of reoccurring equipment problems.
•Participating in setting up workflows to facilitate production at higher rates.
•Supporting development and deployment of unit strategic vision.
•Serving as subject matter expert for training to reinforce good manufacturing practices.
•Streamlining work processes to optimize utilization of operations resources.
•Fulfill the role as lean manufacturing champion for the production area

Education and Experience:

•Bachelors in Chemical Engineering with 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

•       Perform required safety audits per the Augusta Plant yearly audit plan.
•Attend plant-wide safety/wellness sessions.
•Review/perform required safety audits, JSAs and What-if scenarios.
•Complete all required CBTs on time.
•Participate in PSM, PHA, and PSSR field reviews, as well as Follow-Up Incident investigations as needed.
•Maintain a working knowledge of all plant environmental standards, ES-01 through ES-10.
•Know the environmental permit limits for your assigned plant (air, waste water, storm water).
•Maintain a working knowledge of the Hazardous Waste Rules (RCRA) to include storage, handling, sampling, transporting, manifesting, record keeping, and emergency response.
•Maintain a working knowledge of the facility environmental plans (SPCC, Storm Water Pollution Prevention).
