Solvay is a market leader in hydrogen peroxide, both in market share and technology. Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is used mainly by the paper industry to bleach pulp. Its properties are also of interest to many markets, such as chemicals, food, textiles, and the environment.

Job Overview and Responsibilities

       Coordinate export and import related orders with shipbrokers, ocean carriers, railroad carriers, freight forwarders, and drayage companies in compliance with Solvay’s Standard Operating Procedures / compliance manual.
         Work closely with back office/logistics to ensure efficient and effective execution of shipping plan.
Coordinate pre and post shipment process & documentation including bills of lading and timely freight payment.
Execute SAP transactions including but not limited to Sales Orders, Stock Transfers, Delivery, Shipment, Goods issue, shipment costs, goods receipt, create / update vendors, routes, purchase orders, shopping carts and other relevant transactions
Prepare, compile, collate, and distribute completed export documentation as requested by the customers/Back Office/Vendors. (COAs, Certificates of Origin, etc.)
Proactively identify problems and swiftly implement the appropriate solution.
Log and follow up service issues with providers.
Respond to customer complaints in a timely manner by recording the investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions in CRM
Provide regular written status reports to management and clients
Update planning and the plants in the  weekly tactical meeting discussions
Assist in planning and managing inventory efficiently and effectively at different levels, and reconcile inventory with terminals, internal and external customers if needed
Monitor emptyisotank returns and update and communicate to stakeholders.
Trace shipment up to final destination and advice parties involved as needed.
Handle incoming inquiries/communications from customers/Back Office and logistics service providers as required, ensuring that issues are resolved both promptly and thoroughly.
Check figures and documents for correct entry and mathematical accuracy for high level of data quality.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Supply chain or related field

Minimum of 3 year of export and import operational experience specifically in ocean freight

Skills

    Proficient with G Suite (Google Apps) including Gmail, Hangouts, Calendar, and Google+ for communication;

Drive for storage; Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, and Sites for collaboration
Salesforce familiarity a plus
Proficient in SAP
Proficiency with MS office applications with focus on Excel, Word, Access & Power Point
Working knowledge on export operations
Ability to work in, and adapt quickly to changes and uncertainties.
Excellent customer service work ethic
Work well in a team environment
Good organizational skills
Strong analytical skills
Collaborate well with Global teams
Occasional on-call responsibility for after-hours and emergency support
Excellent verbal communication, and listening skills

Additional Information

Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 90% of the time.

Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
