Role Overview

We are looking for:

Basic Function

Prepares instrumentation and electrical (IE) engineering sketches, exhibits, plans, cost estimates and bid packages for projects at the site. Oversees IE project construction to completion along with updating relevant engineering documentation. Plans and coordinates non-routine preventative maintenance on low (LV), medium (MV), and high voltage (HV) switchgear and battery systems.

Accountabilities

·  Works with site Production Engineer(s), Project Staff Engineer, and Maintenance & Engineering Manager to refine project IE scopes, develop IE construction packages, obtain competitive quotes, and manage site project IE construction to an approved budget.
·  Assigned as primary project lead on multiple plant directed alterations (MOCs) and replacements / upgrades with an IE focus.
·  Implement substation preventive maintenance plans on electrical distribution and battery systems by obtaining competitive bids, developing switching plans, communicating electrical outage details, managing contractors, and coordinating related onsite activities. Initiates follow up on unacceptable equipment inspection results.
·  Serve as primary contact to revise and update instrument loop diagrams, instrument specifications, and electrical drawings.
·  Work with internal and external engineering resources to maintain an up to date power system study for site (5 year review), diagnose electrical distribution failures, and take necessary action to mitigate unacceptable arc flash energy levels or unsafe equipment conditions.
·  Provide input to plant capital and expense budget needs.
·  Utilize site computerized maintenance management system (CMMS / SAP), management of change process (Gensuite), instrumentation database (IM), and document control databases (AODocs, ProjectWise) to document, communicate, coordinate, and implement change.
·  Works with maintenance and storeroom management to streamline appropriate stock type and levels for instrumentation and electrical components.
·  Serve as a point of contact for the IT department to facilitate network revisions.

You will bring:

Skills Required

·  5-10 years of plant IE maintenance and construction experience at a chemical plant.
·  Capable of selecting, wiring, and configuring instrumentation.
·  Knowledgeable and experienced on the operation of LV, MV, and HV switchgear.
·  Experience managing contractors.
·  Experience with AutoCAD and SAP
·  Proficient in MicroSoft Office and/or Google Suite
·  Excellent communication skills, creativity, teamwork, and the ability to anticipate, identify, and resolve problems.
·  Engineering degree preferred, but not required.
·  Good knowledge of English language (written and verbal).
·  Able to move freely about the plant, ascend stairs and ladders as needed.
·  DCS or PLC experience is a plus.
