It also provides both external stakeholders and internal decision-makers with relevant financial data and analyses, with an intention to support sustainable value creation and value retention.

Energy Business delivers innovative and sustainable tailor-made services designed to improve energy performance and reduce the CO2 footprint of the Solvay Group and energy-intensive third-party industrial clients. These services range from energy sourcing and energy efficiency to price risk management and operation of co-generation plants.

Job Overview and Responsibilities:

Energy Business, within the Procurement Function, optimizes the Group's energy and CO2 purchases and supports all Global Business Units. Energy Business also develops activities for its external customers, including energy services, CO2 management and the development of renewable energy and biofuel.
Based in Paris, the Risk Analyst works under the responsibility of the Energy Business Risk Manager, in the Sustainable Development & Energy Finance team, within the Finance Function.

The activity of the position holder will take place in the context of a trading room. The position holder is an agent in sensitive position subject to an ethical commitment. The highest requirement of ethics, risk assessment and rigor of performance is therefore required.
The incumbent of this position has for main missions

The position holder has four main missions :

Market risks

·  Daily monitoring of market risk
·  Calculation of commodities exposures on CO2 and Energy (gas, electricity, oil, coal)
·  Follow-up of limits (Value at Risk, Stress Test)
·  Monitoring and analysis of daily risk reporting
·  Monitoring and analysis of daily P&L ( all trading activities)

·  Month end closing processes
·  Market data validation
·  Validation of Mark to Market and communication to Accounting
·  Reserve Policy calculation Credit / Counterparty risks

·  Evaluation of the counterparts financial situation 
·  Analyze and follow up the Know Your Customer profile  and ensure monitoring in terms of reputational risks on customers / counterparties
·  Define the credit limit, in contact with the credit manager
·  Monitor the credit exposure and the overdues

Operational risks and Internal control

·  Develop, maintain and administer local policies and procedures
·  Apply the group's internal standards and procedures, particularly with regards to control methods and reporting incidents
·  Perform a review of existing processes and participate in the identification of areas for improvement, follow the recommendations from internal and external audits
·  Organize the controls and the implementation of the action plans
·  Participate in the industrialization of processes, via the project management on the internal application D-Wise ( testing and follow up the improvement )
·  Support the other departments (Trading, Portfolio, Controlling, etc.) in the special requests 

Compliance Risk

·  Perform "Know Your Customer" (KYC) analysis for each credit file
·  Ensure that the activity complies with the regulatory standards of the sector (EMIR, REMIT regulations)
·  Ensure a watch on industry good practices implemented in terms of compliance

Education and Experience:

Master Level in Finance, Economics, Audit (University, Business School, Engineer School)
MS Excel proficiency, knowledge of Python is a plus
Minimum 3 years experience in Risk Management , Audit or Controlling

Skills:

·  Fluent in French and in English
·  Knowledge of risk management would be appreciated: sensitivity calculation, valuation of financial products (forward, futures, swaps, etc.), stress test, value at risk.
