Job Introduction

Sodexo Healthcare is a leading provider of services to the NHS and private healthcare organisations in England. We provide quality of life services that improve patient and staff experience, raise standards and deliver financial benefits to our clients. We help to enhance the patient environment (including patient dining, cleaning/housekeeping, retail services), provide clinical support (equipment sterilisation) and manage technical estates teams (estates management, asset management, land maintenance and energy management).

Sodexo’s staff and visitor restaurant offer in Healthcare is currently under review. Part of this review includes a research project to help understand consumer/client  needs, motivations and behaviours.

We are therefore looking for someone to join us on a short term basis to support this project.

Working as part of the Healthcare insight team, you will work to gather data from our customers at a number of our hospital sites to identify opportunities to improve what we deliver.  You will receive training and the insight team will coordinate and monitor your activities.

Your diagnostic research will provide insight to inform service offer development within Healthcare.

You will be expected to travel to at least 5 of our sites during your time with us (travel costs will be reminbursed) to conduct this research. It would therefore be preferable if you are based close to either Devon, London, Buckinghamshire, Birmingham or Stoke On Trent.

Role Responsibility

·  Conduct research at some targeted retail outlets.  This will predominantly be footfall analysis and opportunistic surveys of restaurant visitors i.e. counting visitors and also asking some simple questions and recording in a tablet.
·  Basic report preparation.

Desired profile

The Ideal Candidate

·  Excellent and effective communicator with good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels – Must be able to speak with confidence and enthusiasm with members of the public and staff at hospitals in order to conduct effective interviews
·  Interest in marketing and consumer research would be beneficial although not essential
·  Good attention to detail
·  Excellent analytical, planning and problem solving skills. Be proactive and have the ability to complete tasks with minimal direction
·  Travel and overnight stays will be required as the research will be conducted across five healthcare sites, in Devon, London, Buckinghamshire, Birmingham and Stoke
·  Able to commit to a period of at least 4 weeks during summer 2017.

Package Description

£7.50 per hour.
