TRAINEE: Shipping & Offshore Finance

Environment

SG CIB is the Corporate and Investment Banking arm of the Societe Generale Group. Present in over 50 countries across Europe, the Americas and Asia. SG CIB provides corporate, financial institutions, investors and public sector clients with value-added integrated financial solutions.

This Trainee position will be within our Global Finance (GLFI) business line. You will be part of our Shipping & Offshore Finance team and be involved in all aspects of the transaction process from preparing the initial pitch to client negotiation and deal execution.

Mission

Main Responsibilities

• Conduct market research
• Assist in the preparation of pitches and other marketing materials
• Handle commercial, financial and legal due diligence
• Conduct corporate analysis on clients and analysis of their shipping fleet
• Assist with pricing of financing opportunities
• Prepare market reports
• Participate in the preparation of credit applications
• Review of documentation before closing of the transaction
• Assist in other transaction requirements such as environmental and social (E&S) issues, KYC etc

Qualifications

• Hold a relevant Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance, Business or similar
• Good analytical skills
• Able to estimate risks in shipping, offshore finance
• Strong team spirit
• Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Excellent communication skills
• Fluent English is mandatory. Fluent Mandarin or Korean would be an advantage

This is a fixed term 12 month Trainee contract with Societe Generale. You will form part of the team on a full time basis. In order to apply for the Trainee position please ensure you have completed your qualification and will be available to work full time for the duration of the Trainee contract.
