Description of the Business Line or Department

Corporate Finance department focused on the Oil & Gas sector

Summary of the key purposes of the role

· 
An ideal opportunity for an Associate to join the Corporate Finance franchise within a leading European Bank renowned for its award-winning Oil and Gas franchise;

· 
The position is based in London within the Oil & Gas Corporate Finance team;

· 
The candidate will receive a well-rounded experience of upstream, midstream and downstream subsectors; and European, African and Middle East geographies;

· 
You will be involved in Corporate Finance advisory, M&A, DCM and ECM execution as well as origination of new deals across the sector;

· 
You are also responsible for working across other teams in the bank as well as training and mentoring more junior

· 
team members; and

· 
Previous relevant experience is essential.

Summary of responsibilities

· 
Assisting in origination of Corporate Finance transactions across the Oil & Gas sector;

· 
Assisting in execution of Corporate Finance transactions across the Oil & Gas sector;

· 
Involved in the preparation and pitching of presentations for clients, investors and the broader investment community;

· 
Financial statement analysis and financial modelling;

· 
Company and industry research in the context of the origination and execution of transactions;

· 
Company valuations mainly using market multiples, M&A multiples and the DCF method;

· 
Help develop transaction structures / structured solutions;

· 
Keep up to date about M&A, equity and debt related issues;

· 
Working with other sector, country and products teams as required;

· 
Develop and maintain sector expertise and certain client relationships in these segments; and

Efficiently supervise junior colleagues (interns and analysts as appropriate) and owns responsibility of their work.

Profile Required

Competencies

·

Strong technical skills (modelling, power-point presentations, data mining, research and commercial awareness);

· 
Solid knowledge about M&A and Corporate Finance;

· 
Good knowledge of the oil & gas sector, and transition technologies and routes to a low/no carbon economy;

· 
Demonstrates good written and oral communication skills;

· 
Is able to support execution effort in various transaction processes (buy-side, sell-side, IPO, ECM, DCM etc.)

· 
Is able to deliver on due time: respect deadlines and efficiently communicate with team on their progress;

· 
Is able to deliver a reliable and accurate work: ensures production of high-quality documents;

· 
Knows how and when to delegate and to remain responsible for work that is delegated;

· 
Is able to multi-task and show autonomy on defined tasks; and

· 
Is able to interact with clients or business line colleagues on specific workstreams as required
