Energy Project Finance is a core business for the Global Banking & Investor Solutions unit of Societe Generale. For over 20 years, we have been advising and lending to multi-billion dollar projects across power and oil & gas sectors. The Singapore teams cover South-East Asia and work closely with our offices in Hong-Kong, Sydney, New-York and Europe. We cover a wide range of assets, including thermal and renewable power generation, refining, LNG, oil and gas, petrochemicals… We have a very active deal flow and the successful candidate will be working in a fast paced and demanding environment that requires an individual who has a strong interest in the energy industry and financial markets. The VIE will assist the Singapore, Hong-Kong and Sydney teams in the origination and execution of project finance debt advisory and arranging mandates in the energy sector across Asia-Pacific.
Missions:
At Societe Generale, you will be joining the Global Finance entity of SG Corporate and Investment Banking. We provide our issuer clients (corporates, financial institutions, public sector) with capital raising solutions, along with structured financing and commodities, forex and interest rate hedging. Developing tailor-made products and providing strategic advice (capital structure advisory, financing schemes and capital markets) based on our worldwide expertise and in-depth sectorial knowledge, we aim to meet their financing needs. We are a top player across euro debt capital markets and won many international accolades over the years as a worldwide leader in export, project and natural resources & energy finance.
Main Responsibilities:
Transaction support to the relevant deal team leader in the Energy team on advisory and arranging mandates, including:
- Financial modeling and analysis of financial projections,
- Review of various documentation, including information memorandum and finance documents,
- Review of various due diligence reports, and
- Assisting in preparation of credit applications and other internal approval requests,
- Assisting in preparation of presentations for clients.
Support for origination and marketing, including:
- Research on companies, market and industry trends,
- Preparation of marketing materials, and
- Assisting in preparation of proposals.
The VIE assignment in a nutshell
This VIE in Singapore is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 24 months.
The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space. For further information, please see www.civiweb.com.
Profile:
You are graduated with a Master degree from Engineering or Business School or University with a specialization in Finance
Ideally you have past experience in the energy sector or in a project finance team preferred, otherwise in financial analysis would be appreciated
You are fluent in English
You are proficient in Microsoft Office application (Excel, powerpoint)
