Department Summary:
The Information Technology Department (“ITEC”) has worldwide responsibility for supplying Global Banking and Investor Solutions (“GBIS”) various divisions with all the IT resources necessary for them to function under competitive conditions in terms of technological standards, service quality and cost.ITEC is composed of talented professionals who every day translate ideas into action by combining the strength of our expertise in IT with a deep understanding of investment banking. Our teams are ensuring that we deliver the service our businesses need to compete and serve Société Générale's clients. Our objective is to deliver great production services in a well-controlled, high quality and cost effective way, and to deliver competitive application systems that allow GBIS to grow its business in existing and new markets, launch new products and take advantage of new opportunities when they arise.ITEC is responsible for facilitating entry to new markets, compliance with regulatory needs, growth in business volumes, and operational efficiency improvements in our overall front to back processing environment.

Mission

Day-to-Day Responsibilities for the AMER GMI BA/SME specifically:

·  Develops, writes, and communicates business requirements for the implementation of technical solutions
·  Performs testing of new or modified software and data changes in GMI
·  Develops and documents test plans and results in testing GMI functionality
·  Explores process improvements and efficiencies in GMI environments, both in production and test
·  Establishes liaison relationship with business partners regionally and globally in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs
·  Coordinates with ITEC partners working in other systems upstream and downstream of GMI, as well as the iSeries Custom Development department, and BA/SME staff not only in Chicago but also other AMER offices and staff in Europe and Asia
·  Understands client's priorities of projects and requests, in coordination with management as well as project managers and other stakeholders
·  Participates in sprint process for issue prioritization as required
·  Reports status of project and production issues appropriately, using internal tools and communication paths, formal and informal
·  Investigates, resolves and escalates Level 3 production issues in GMI
·  Participates in Follow the Sun work for both production issues and project tasks, coordinating with BA/SME staff in other regions
·  Balance between project work and production work varies but would typically be 70% projects, 30% Level 3 support
·  Follows through SDLC and process requirements for implementation of software from requirements through to production completion and review
·  Promotes an understanding of ITEC roles, processes and activities to the business units
·  Travel is zero to minimal

Profile

Technical Skills:

·  Advanced knowledge of GMI software, data structures and core functionality
·  Advanced skills on iSeries (a.k.a. AS/400) platform, OS, IFS and DB2 database
·  Strong Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
·  Good SQL query skills, preferably SQL/400 specifically
Desired / Plus:

·  Knowledge of MQ on iSeries
·  Knowledge as a user of Impulse and/or Jira software for issue management
·  Knowledge of XML (preferably FiXML)
Competencies:

·  Strong understanding of the listed derivatives markets and processing of trades and events for those markets, especially futures and options
·  A detail-oriented self-starter who is comfortable working in a very dynamic environment, with rapidly changing priorities.
·  Knowledge of software development lifecycle, change and release management methods
·  Problem solving and analytical skills
·  Excellent oral and written communication skills
·  Team player with collaborative attitude
Desired / Plus:

·  Understanding of full trade lifecycle
·  Project management skills
·  Ability to analyze complex workflow methodologies and make process re-engineering automation recommendations
·  Able to provide accurate estimation of work effort, and effective status to management as well as clients
Experience Needed:

·  At least three years (preferably more) in a financial technology role on the trading/investment side of the business, either with a financial firm or related software vendor
Desired / Plus:

·  Development experience in RPG and/or CL, or the ability to read and understand that code
Educational Requirements:

·  Bachelor's or Master's Degree, ideally (but not necessarily) in a related field
Desired / Plus:

·  Undergraduate or graduate study specifically in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Computer Science or Computer Engineering
·  Series 3, 7 or other applicable certifications related to financial derivatives
