The Siemens Mobility division has an exciting opportunity for a Operational Control Systems Engineer (Solution Engineer - Data Application) to join our team based in our Docklands office. The Siemens Mobility team is seeking a motivated and dynamic individual to carry out design, checking and testing of application data for train control systems. This role would suit a candidate that demonstrates potential to grow and develop in the role.

Whilst this role is full time, suitable candidates with a preference for part-time hours (minimum of 3 days per week) will also be considered.

Key responsibilities include:

· Design, implement and test data configurations for Train Control Systems using data engineering/ system configuration tools
· Perform work estimates and planning for modifications to existing TCS systems and for new applications of TCS systems
· Engineer changes to software based systems, including creation of and modifications to GUI screens
· Develop detailed solutions for integration to ensure the correct interaction of the individual elements as a functioning unit
· Configure the components and systems of the solution according to the specified requirements of the customer
· Perform analysis and clarification of requirements
· Prepare data design, data process and data test documentation
· Deliver project work on time and to budget, with or without supervision. Maintain accurate timekeeping records for project reporting

In order to be considered for this role, you will have the following:

· An Engineering, Computer Science, Control Systems or Information Technology Degree
· Strong analytical skills to investigate issues, systematically test and bug-fix complex system configurations.
· Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team
· Strong attention to detail
· Experience within the Rail or Transport Industry or an Automated Control Systems environment would be advantageous
· Technical knowledge related to the Rail domain: schematic displays, signalling, ladder logic or constraint programming is beneficial
· Experience in Tools and Languages such as; Scripting, (Perl, Unix shell, Windows scripting, Coding (C++, Java), macros, Excel, XML
