Job Description:

Position Overview:

The qualified Engineer will be responsible for the execution of advanced field service technical activities. These include Field Engineering, Site Execution, Proposal & Planning Support and Service Desk Support within the Reciprocating Compressors Gas Engine (RCE) Product Line, with additional work on specialty areas within all Product Lines. The Service Engineer reports to the RCE Technical Support Lead.

Engineering Services provides targeted technical support to customers to solve specific client technical problems, which includes gas engine and recip compressor performance testing, process modeling, thermodynamic cycle modeling, vibration analysis, root cause analysis, reliability centered maintenance studies, control system analysis, instrumentation and electrical troubleshooting including generator/motor testing and data collection.

Site Execution & Support includes technical advice and engineering review, commissioning & testing, and troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

Proposal & Planning Support includes compiling technical details, anticipated hours, engineering details pertinent to the development of Field Service Proposals.

Customer Technical Support function provides detailed technical information pertinent to the relevant product line

Responsibilities:
·  Accountable for scheduled work, analysis, reports; communicates directly with client to exchange information and results
·  Equipment operation analysis to assess system performance, quantify losses or troubleshoot gas engine/compressor performance
·  Installation of data collection equipment and instrumentation; Perform machinery diagnostics and troubleshooting
·  Complete site audits to evaluate the field installations, by inspecting and reporting the condition of the equipment and their arrangements
·  Collect operating data, perform machinery diagnostics, troubleshooting, and coordinate analysis with Engineering Services and PCC Engineering
·  Installation of data collection equipment and instrumentation; Perform machinery diagnostics and troubleshooting

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
·  BS in related discipline: Mechanical, Thermo, Aero or Electrical Engineering field and at least 5 years of working experience or high school diploma/GED with hands on field experience equivalent on gas engines and recips
·  Candidate must have willingness to travel 50% of the time
·  The Field Service Engineer must possess experience on at least one (1) rotating equipment product lines, i.e. steam & turbo, recip (Industrial Steam Turbines (ISP), Turbo Compressors (TCP), Reciprocating Compressors and Gas Engines (RCE), respectively)
·  Candidate must have experience with compressor or steam turbine performance calculations, with some knowledge of simulation tools
·  Knowledge of process and vibration data collection equipment
·  Familiarity with API and ASME standards
·  Proficient in Windows® and Office® programs
·  Qualified Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States and not require employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future for employment in the United States
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
·  Masters with 1-2 years of working experience
·  Familiarity with various with chemical processes
·  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
·  Good technical and interpersonal communication skills
·  Bi-lingual language proficiency
