As part of the LD Consumables SystemsEngineering team, the Senior SystemEngineer will be responsible for thedesign, integration, and validation of automated medical diagnostic consumabledevice manufacturing equipment, batch processing systems, and semi-finishedreagent formulation systems.
- Apply process automation and controltechnologies to develop new and upgrade existing automated medical diagnosticconsumable device manufacturing equipment, batch processing systems, andsemi-finished reagent formulation systems in a constantly changing fast-pacedenvironment
- Work closely with cross-functionaldesign team members to ensure that the full understanding of subsystem/systemfunctionality and performance is developed.
- Collaborate with IT organization todesign, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot manufacturing network systems.
- Identify solutions to complex technicalissues by troubleshooting, determining root cause, and then proposing designmodifications as they pertain to highly complex automated production assemblyand packaging system performance.
- Analyze system performance test dataand establish acceptance criteria
- Anticipate potential problems that mayimpact system performance and develop risk mitigation plans.
- Applying technical writing skills bycreating technical documentation such as validation documentation, functionalspecifications, user requirements, and manufacturing work instructions.
- Assure compliance to all designcharacterization, integration and verification quality procedures and policiesof process development and validation.
- Collaborate with Technical Operationsand Manufacturing teams.

- Demonstrated systems and design engineering experience in complex electromechanical instrumentation in both a new process development environment as well as supporting existing installed equipment.
- Extensive experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (Siemensand Rockwell) and electro-mechanical equipment such as motors, photo-electricsensors, vision systems (Keyence and/or Cognex), robotics (FANUC) andpneumatics.
- Extensive experience with Industrial Control Systems design anddocumentation using tools such as AutoCAD Electrical and Microsoft suite ofoffice products.
- Experience in building and supporting custom object orientedapplications in C,C++, C#, HTML, Python, and/or Java to as well as implementingGraphical User Interfaces and Process Data Collection Systems.
- Working knowledge and application experience with Lean businesssystems and methodologies such as TPM, 5S, Lean 3P Design, & OEEMonitoring.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate with technical teams and drive results.
- Experience working with large cross organizational multidisciplinary teams

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Chemical /Computer Engineering or related discipline.
- 5-8 years supporting and installing manufacturing automation and process control designs; including experience in a cGMP Manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Agile development
- Willingness to travel up to 10%
